The people in heaven are dead, but techically can pray and exhort God. I guess you would call it a state of suspended animation with vocals. Even the Bible speaks of multiple layers of Heaven, and the Book of Enoch names the 9th Heaven as the place where the dead go to wait for the resurrection. There, they glorify god and demand satisfaction for their deaths and the deaths of others. However, the Bible also says, that when resurrected it will be as if no time has passed (I'd guess like being asleep), so I'd guess it would be a trance like state?
Great question.

When people die they don't go to heaven. The bible says we fall asleep in death, as in nothing happens, we are aware of nothing. From dust we came and to dust we return. You aren't a Christian just to go to Heaven right? You do right and believe because that's what is right. When they say of the body of Christ we are his body of people, not in the literal. The scripture about all of Heaven rejoicing is talking about the Angels(not people who have died, spirit creates created by God) rejoicing because they are happy to see people do the right thing. Also all the rightous people will be resurected in the time of the end to a paradise Earth, like what was meant for Adam and Eve. What is the point in going to Heaven? If God wanted people in Heaven why not just put us there to begin with? The Bible says he is a loving and just God, he wouldn't put us on Earth just to die, that is not loving. Hope this helped you!

HI Midge,
When Jesus returns HE will Judge eaxch of us and those who are in the BOOK of LIFE will be sent to Heaven. The angels are in Heaven rejoicing with the FATHER, SON, and HOLY GHOST. There are no other inhabitants at this time. I hope that you are going to be there when I arrive. I would like to meet you there. Study these scriptures and see what you think. To become a Christian:
1. HEAR - Romans 10:14 How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?
2. BELIEVE - In Mark 16:16, Jesus said “He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.”
3. REPENT - Luke 13:3 I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish.
4. CONFESS CHRIST - 1 Timothy 6:12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
5. BE BAPTIZED - Romans 6:3-4 do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
6. CONTINUE TO BE FAITHFUL - Jesus said in Matthew 7:21 "Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.”
Send me a note if you have questions. I am anxious to hear from you. Have a Great day.

There's good reason to believe that people headed for Heaven go to paradise. Their bodies stay on earth until the Rapture, and then Jesus will come back to claim his people. In the mean time, Christian's spirits are in paradise (remember what Jesus said to the other man on the cross, he said something like "I will see you today in paradise"). The dead who turned against God will be in Hell, the fiery pit before the Lake of Fire. There's a lot of information about this in the Bible. Keep searching for answers. Talk to you pastor and ask him some questions like yours.

By all means are they alive and well. If you were on your deathbed and your loved ones asked you to pray for them, would you stop praying for them once you get to heaven? Of course not. Jesus is the vine, we are the branches. The vine reaches all the way up to heaven and doesn't divide those who died in Christ and those who are still on earth. Pray away!

There are three types of bodies: physical, asteral and spiritual. Physical decays and only raises on haloween to just have a days fun a year until Christ returns! Of the other two, asteral will help you get another body through re-birth if you so desire. The third spiritual body is ever lasting.
So depending on who you think you are the physical / asteral / spiritual being, you will die or be eternal. Because Jesus could identify himself 100% as spiritual body, what ever they did with physical body did not really bother him much.
When he returns, he makes people identify themselves with their spiritual bodies (I guess to rise them upto the cold skies) into the stars blasting themselves with constant nuclear energies. Starts like sun are a little too hot to be called heaven for your physical body (for you are now worried if Iran & Soudi will be nuclear nations!)
Do not try to practice sleeping on everest with naked body or jump into the hawaian volcanos just to be ready for his return to travel through cold skies into the hot stars.

you are neither alive nor dead, you are in a state of a coma until you are called to reincarnate back to earth in a different body, you reincarnate as many times as possible to be perfected after you are perfected you can truly go to nirvana. when you reincarnate you can reincarnate as the poorest and most miserable to the happiest person alive or to the richest, the divine ghost is testing us everytime he sends us here to reincarnate, it is true suspense, will we make the same grave mistakes.
we reincarnate for phases
bacteria 100 times
mineral 100 times
insect 100 times
plant 100 times
any type of animal 100 times
human as many times as we can be perfected
NIRVANA

They are alive SPIRITUALLY, not physically like you and I have a physical body. They can pray for us. Yes, I suppose they can. After Satan is there requesting that he be allowed to attack us. So I presume that the Christians can make some sort of request of God on our behalf.

There is no soul sleep of the righteous. Only the damned sleep in their graves. Those that have died in Christ now reside in heaven. Their spiritual bodies will result from the joining of their heavenly natures with their resurrected bodies at the second coming and final judgment. Those that are damned will join Satan in their separation from God in Hell.
