But is attracting a lot of thumbs-downs from people.

The atheists on the page could easily thumbs-up each other and have +10 ratings. They're obviously not. Non-atheists are giving them thumbs downs anyway.

Does this mean that atheists more than non-atheists realize how pointless and petty the whole thumbs-up/down thing is, and set themselves apart from such childishness?

Because i first said it when i was like 5, and I probably didn't understand everything then, but now after doing it a few times, i'm not sure if I really mean it deep down in my heart. And i've seen my friends grow so much in God and praising jesus all the time, I mean i would like to do that but how do I make it really genuine?

And please, if you're not christian please don't answer.

How can atheists best be saved? What can we do to enlighten them? A serious question because if we can save just one - just one - wouldn't that be worth it? Wouldn't that please God?

The undercover TV inquiry, conducted over ten months, reveals some religious clerics urging their congregations to start preparing for jihad (holy war) against infidels or non-Muslims. Another is caught on camera telling families to hit their daughters for not covering their heads with the veil or hijab.
Even ones regarded as the most moderate mosques, urge their followers to reject Britain's legal system in favour of shariah law and its radical rule book

In another sequence, he is heard saying that Christians and Jews are 'kuffaars' (non-believers) and the enemies of Islam. 'No one loves the kuffaar, not a single person loves the kuffaar,' he rants. 'We hate the kuffaar!' Then he adds, triumphantly: 'Allah has not given those people who are kuffaar a way over the believer. They shouldn't be in authority over us. Muslims shouldn't be satisfied with anything other than a total Islamic state.

I thought about this question after reading that the Sun, which is a Star will one day go Nova.

I read that the Sun has a life expectancy like every living thing on earth does, and the Sun's life expectancy is about 1/2 over.

Thus meaning in about 5 billion years the earth and everything on it will be no more.

Which brings me to a few questions.

Why work to advance our existence if it will all go away?

I guess it was one thing to think of my own mortality, but it seems more difficult to think that everything will go away.

Could it be that we are just a chapter in the whole cosmic event of life?

And if that's the case, is it that we should try to improve life as much as possible for everyone until the Earth becomes lifeless?

Just a quick question. I really am interested in knowing if you do or not, as I try to do both but usually wind up picking one over the other. But another reason is because right now I don't see any Mormon questions out there when I do a search.

In the Name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

God , the Omnipotent, the Omniscient, has told us in the Quran that He "Counted the numbers of all things" 72:28 (7+2+2+8=19). The Mathematical Miracle of the Quran , that God called "one of the great miracles " 74:35 (7+4+3+5= ?) has been expanding and more discoveries are being observed as He promised in the Quran. the following quotes are taken from an old issue of one of the Submitters journals.

"God assured us in the Quran that His book is complete, perfect and fully detailed. True submitters (Muslims) accept this fact while others look for other sources because they do not believe God. When students go to school and study different subjects, they never ask if the subject taught by the teacher is correct or the author of the book they study has explained the subject matter properly. If one does not understand "tensor algebra" or "group theory", he/she usually blames him/herself for not being able to understand, the book is always right. This situation is usually reversed for the Quran which is always blamed for not being DETAILED in spite of God's assertion to the contrary. God, on the other hand tells us that He is the one who gives knowledge and wisdom. Obviously Solomon did not go to Harvard Law School and neither did Zul Quarnain go to MIT.

Both these men were given the correct understanding by God, for they knew that the correct understanding comes from God to His obedient and appreciative servants. These men as well as other examples we witness in the Quran always thanked God for His blessings instead of referring to "nature" as some do.

The case of Zul Qarnain is interesting because God in simple language tells us how to manufacture "steel". If you study the Quran, Chapter (Sura) 18, God narrates the history of Zul Qarnain and his journey to a place between the two palisades. He meets people whom he can hardly understand. These people complain to him about Gog and Magog and how corrupt they are. They ask him if he can make a barrier between them and Gog and Magog. In verse 95 he says that "My Lord has given me many bounties....", therefore he immediately refers to the source of the 'giving", God. Invaluable information on how to make an alloy with iron and carbon follows in verse 18:96 and has been at peoples disposal for almost 1400 years. Today, we know from the science of metallurgy how to produce steel.

The IRON : Sura 57 (57 = 19X 3)

Sura 57 in the Quran is called "The Iron" in Arabic (Al-Hadeed). The word (Al-Hadeed) in Arabic has a gematrical value of 57, the same like the sura number. The gematrical value of the Arabic word (Hadeed) without the (Al) is 26. Number 26 is the position of iron in the periodic table of elements.(the number of protons in the iron nucleus is 26)

The iron itself in mentioned in verse 25 of this sura. The last word God (ALLAH) mentioned in verse 25 is the 26th word GOD from the beginning of this sura. (This is the number of PROTONS in the iron nucleus.) Verse 25 in this sura is the 19th verse which contains the word God in Sura 57. God is Omniscient.

Is this a miracle?

or any religion that is intolerent or other beliefes. Religion has been the cause of almost all conflicts or wars fought in the world. When hatred is based on race we all are offended, when hatred is based on religion it's a different thing. I find it crazy that religious extremists can make comments like "All muslims are terroists" and mot people agree. Ask yourself, if Mel Gibson said black people were controlling the country or the cause or wars would we still allow him to make movies? I think not. Just a thought. And before you ask, I'm white, American and raised Christian.

Tell me if this is wrong?
With unlimited time before we existed and unlimted amount of planets (due to space never ending with the whats behind the wall theory? more space) then their is not only a great chance of their been aliens but of god exsisting too.

Example of how big space is:

Imagine a planet with purple dinosaurs on it. They all had too heads and barked like dogs. Sounds crazy but somewhere out there its likely there is. You may think "oh der dats stupid, i cant think into things properly haha stupid dinosaurs". But scientists have proven this.

With an UNLIMITED amount of planets there is nearly a 100% chance of ANYTHING you can think of been true. Sounds scary but most intelligent people know this if they think about it long enough.

I havn't been to church since i was little and i KNOW scientifically that the chances of there been aliens / god is near 100%
This is why i live happily.

Do you agree?

Why do you think many Christians become atheists?

I have at least a dozen Wiccan friends (both online and offline) with Atheist boyfriends. Generally, on the religion topic, everything is always just peachy.

On the other hand, I have a couple of Wiccan friends whose boyfriends are Christians and that situation is..........tense.

Since the Y!A consensus (at least from some folks, who shall remain screennameless) is that Atheists are as dogmatic as Christians, why do Wiccans and Atheists get along so famously when Christians and Atheists don't?
