.......and that Islam is an updated version of Christianity? How do you feel about associating Jesus and God with Allah?

The basic teaching of both were tolerance, love. acceptance. It would seem that both religions strayed far from these original teachings and beliefs.

I do not think you know much about any of it.

Why should Christians be offended when Muslims say they worship the same G-d? We, Jews, Muslims, and Christians do worship the same G-d, whether we call him G-d or Allah.

I have never heard a Muslim say that Islam is an updated version of Christianity. I study the religion, as well as Judaism, and Christianity, and I find much more similarity in my Judaism and Islam, than I do in Islam and Christianity.

Associating Jesus and G-d with Allah? That question makes no sense----if you knew anything about Islam. Allah is G-d, and Jesus is not G-d (ever heard of there is no G-d but G-d?). Jesus was a teacher, a Rabbi, and maybe even a Prophet..but, not G-d.

Added note: Simple Man of G-d has one wild answer-----he is completely off the history books.

I am not offended by the statement, I just think they are incorrect in their assumptions about it. Historic records indicate that Allah was an Idol thrown out of the temple by Solomon. A deity worshipped as the moon god, I believe it was. Now, islam has its roots in the same place as Judaism, which is the basis for christianity (since Jesus Christ was the messiah, or savior, promised by the prophecies made by the judaic prophets. However, it does contrast that many of the jews did not believe he was the messiah, because they were seeking a military-leader-type of king, leading an army to free them). Islam and christianity both claim ties to Abraham, but this is because one faith is from the descendents of one son, Isreal, and the other from another son, Ishmael.

Offended? Nah, but it doesn't mean I need to go along with their misguided beliefs, either.

Hope this helps...

I don't get offended at all...People can worship who ever and what ever they want too...God and Allah are one in the same. However if your a Muslim you get the fast track to hell for not believing that Jesus is your savior! Oh yeah I might not be correct on this but I am pretty sure that you don't get 21 virgins in the name of God either for killing yourself in the name of your religion...If that was the case their would be no internet and for the most part the planet would be empty...Most of us would be in Heaven having a great time with the ladies!

it truly is quite a demanding question to respond to, there are quite some factors to contemplate (like what sect of christianity you're talking about). besides the undeniable fact that, i imagine that so long because the the christians in question settle for that there is one god, and in reality god, then sure you would possibly want to assert they worship a similar god. Oh and also you stated you've been questioning why anybody isn't Jewish? user-friendly,you could't only anticipate that because Judaism got here first it truly is astounding. Muslims have self assurance that faith is a progression. for my section, Allah sends his prophets(PBUT) to spread his message, over the years the message receives distorted or replaced slightly (only seem at Henry VIII, he replaced a elementary portion of his faith), so Allah sends yet another prophet to astounding the 'mistakes'. till the of completion of Allah's faith with Islam and the holy Qu'ran, which to this present day has no longer been replaced by any unmarried human. Ofcourse translations can in a way smash the which technique of the textual content, besides the undeniable fact that the unique e book continues to be unchanged.

I am not offended, as most "Christians" don't worship the same God. Some believe there is one God, the Father, others believe in the trinity, still others believe God to be flesh and bone, while others believe God is spiritual. Others believe God to have characteristics that He does not possess, others make them up as they go along, based solely on my own personal observation. So that other religions do much of the same doesn't offend me, or surprise me, as I think they don't even know the one true God. But, I can't speak for Him.

As a Christian I can't recall hearing any Muslim say that we worship the same God. I know that Jews and Christians worship the God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob. I do believe though that the Muslims have a version of something....but not a true relationship with the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

I don't get offended. It just increases my faith
Apparently they worship the God of Abraham. So do I. They believe Jesus was a great man of God who was born of a virgin, and will return. So do I.
Then muhammad came along and said the church wasn't doing it right, and well, I can accept that. But obviously Jesus has had a great impact on history, whether one believes he was a heretic, a prophet or a Savior.

Well actually I don't get offended. I disagree with them, but I don't get offended.

The Christian's God is a God of love; Allah is a god who must be appeased.

The Christian Jesus is the son of God; The muslim Jesus is just another prophet.

To a Christian, Mohammed is a false teacher; to the muslims, he is a prophet.

I don't get offended. I just disagree. Strongly. For the reasons above.

I have met Great Muslim folks in the US who live very christian-like lives, caring for each other.
I have had personal experiences with crazy Muslims in an Asian country whose every motive is killing the infidel.
Maybe some Muslims serve the Christian God while others serve 'allah' the pagan devil.

Well for one thing, Allah and God are totally different, Allah is fake, God is realy.......Is that plain enough for you? No offense to Muslims...But the coran itself ORDERS Muslims to kill "infidels" such as myself.."infidels" means Christians btw...Later on it actually commands them to kill anyone not of their faith...and After that, it contradicts itself and warns against certain blood shed...ya it is confusing to me, maybe because I am not muslim, so reading the orignal muslim was hard, but that isn't the point. (Yeah, I speak muslim, don't hit me) The point is, the coran is off...but forget I said that...if nothing else, look at it this way. I would much rather serve a God who tells me to love my enemies. Than to serve a god who tells me to KILL my enemies. My God tells me to bless those who curse me. Allah tells me to kill the man who curses me, and to take an eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth. I do get offended why Allah is called God...he is not, and God is very different from Allah
God bless the US
