Because i first said it when i was like 5, and I probably didn't understand everything then, but now after doing it a few times, i'm not sure if I really mean it deep down in my heart. And i've seen my friends grow so much in God and praising jesus all the time, I mean i would like to do that but how do I make it really genuine?

And please, if you're not christian please don't answer.

I'm not certain whether there is a specific "sinner's prayer", but first you acknowledge that Jesus died for your sins and took on your burdens long ago. Ask Jesus to come into your life, forgive you of your sins, ask Him to work through your life to be a blessing to other people. There is no cookie cutter way to be a Christian, God knows your heart and you can't look at other Christians and expect that you will grow at the same rate as them. Don't let the devil try to convince you that you were'nt serious or worthy of accepting the gift of Jesus. Just start praising God in your everyday life, for the little things like finding a good parking space, or getting your paycheck and stuff. After a while, you'll realize how much you have to thank Him for and it will become second nature to you. It's genuine when you mean it.

The sinners prayer is not in the bible and not taught in the bible and is a doctrine that man has added that is not found in the bible.

Hear ye HIM Matt. 7:5

Believe Mark 16:16 John 8:24

Repent Acts 2:38 Luke 13:3

Confess Matt. 10:32, 33

Baptized Mark 16:16, Acts 2:38

Who? Matt. 28:19 Acts 8:12 HOW? Romans 6:3,4,

Thus added Acts 2:41-47

Redeemed Acts 20:28 Col. 1 : 13,14

Don't believe me or any man Believe what is written.

If you base your salvation on the sinners prayer you are basing it on something God has not approved of.

Just go to a Christian Church, one founded on the Rock (Jesus Christ the Lord who shed His own blood for our redemption and raised from the dead for our justification) that salvation is Grace of God.

Go forward and confess Jesus Christ Lord and pray the sinners prayer as led to.

The church I go to is the River of Life Fellowship in Kent WA and they do this after every service.

My son went forward when he was around 5 also. I felt the love of God all over him. The love reminded me of when I was young and how Gods drawing love felt to me. I believe he was born again at that time.

I think the same thing is your situation. So, if you go forward at church it will be more like a recommitment. That is what I had to do after I left church when I married, had a breakdown, and recommitted to God and was healed. But I went forward around 4 times. The 2nd time it was the recommitment.

Genuine is just honest from the heart. Looking up, confessing to God and not doing it for show for people to see. When you are spiritually born of God, there is heart change. The love of God is in your heart. You can pray to God 24/7 because the Holy Spirit Seal is with you & will be in you, and is also your connection to God. Be water baptized after your recommitment. The water baptizm is representative of the old man is dead, your sins are washed away and the new man alive in Christ forevermore. You are made the righteousness of Christ, and nothing you can do or not do will change that. Renew your mind in the Word of God. When you sin, confess your sin to Jesus, and He is faithful and just to forgive you your sin and cleanse you from all unrighteousness.

Any more questions just write me.

It's not so much the words that you say as it is the condition of your heart when you say them. You must realize that you are a sinner without hope except for the blood of Christ. Admit to God that you know you can't be worthy and righteous and ask for Christ's righteousness to be applied to your account. Mostly, you cannot approach God with a feigned humility. If you don't truly feel this way in your heart, it is pointless to bring it to God. He knows your heart better than you do. And remember, He doesn't save us because of how much we love Him, but because of how much He loves us.

Death is inevitable. The thief on the cross knew when his would occur, but we can not predict our own. After his death, the crucified criminal went to live in paradise with Jesus. Some of us will also live eternally in God's presence. But others will experience everlasting torment, forever separated from Him.
If we receive Jesus as our Savior, our penalty for sin is paid. We are adopted into God's family, and Heaven is our eternal home. If we reject Jesus, we remain alienated from the Lord and under condemnation for our sin. We are destined to experience eternal judgment. God won't accept any of man's excuses because there is no acceptable defense for unbelief. (Acts 4:12)
Become part of God's family today. Acknowledge your sinfulness, and express your faith in these words:
"God, I have sinned against You. (Romans 3:23) I've followed my own way and refused to give You the right to rule in my life. (Romans 3:10-12) I recognize I am separated from You and cannot rescue myself. I do believe that Jesus Christ is Your Son. I accept the truth of the Scriptures? that His death on the cross paid my sin-debt in full. (1 Corinthians 15:3-4) And I ask You to forgive me of my sins. (1 John 1:9) By faith, I receive You, Lord Jesus, as my personal Savior from this moment on."
If you just spoke those words to God, then, like the thief on the cross, you have received salvation? a gift of God's grace. The heavenly Father welcomes every person who comes to Him through His Son, regardless of background, age, or current situation. Through Jesus, the right to enter paradise is yours!

It has to come from your heart, a sincere prayer, like you may have prayed for something else that you really wanted an answer to. It's not a matter of the right words, but the right heart. If you mean it sincerely than put it in your own honest words.

There's not some specific, special prayer. All you need to really pray is something like, "Jesus, thank you for dying for me. I believe that your death and resurrection provides forgiveness for all my sins. I accept you into my heart as Lord and Savior." Pray anything like that - it doesn't have to be that exact prayer. Mean it, and you've got Him. You may not feel like you are really saved, or that God is near, but He always is. Just wait, and He'll fill you up.

Conversion is a process. If you believe and have received the gift of faith then you need to move forward. Pray the prayer of repentance. Acknowledge your sins, individually, to God. He is faithful and just to forgive us and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If you don't have one buy and study the King James bible. 2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. God bless you.

First of all I want to tell you to get your heart in order, then it will be as simple as repenting and telling God you are sorry and ask Jesus to be Lord of your life and mean it.
