or any religion that is intolerent or other beliefes. Religion has been the cause of almost all conflicts or wars fought in the world. When hatred is based on race we all are offended, when hatred is based on religion it's a different thing. I find it crazy that religious extremists can make comments like "All muslims are terroists" and mot people agree. Ask yourself, if Mel Gibson said black people were controlling the country or the cause or wars would we still allow him to make movies? I think not. Just a thought. And before you ask, I'm white, American and raised Christian.

I said I was raised Christian, am not now.
Traetment of Homosexuals in this country is criminal. Think about it Bush's brain Karl Rove crafted the biggest anti-gay march to the polls by pushing anti-gay amendments on ballot across the country. Religious right turnout was huge in getting Bush jr into office in '00 and '04. At the same time Rove was crafting the anti-gay movement her was attending the funeral of the biggest male influence and roll model, his GAY STEP FATHER. For claiming such high faith based moraliy, they seem to always fall short. I link religion and politics here because as we can all agree the right is controlled by the extreme religious right. And as they bring out the base to garner favor for thier policy they prove themselves immoral on a regular basis. In 06 the party is full corruption but they stand on the fact that they are the moral party. Religious bias strikes again.

Christianity is a branch of Judaism which follows the the teaching of Jesus. Jesus himself said, "I am the way, the truth and the life. No man comes to the Father, but by me." Based on this statement, Christianity is exclusive, meaning that Jesus said that he was the only way to God.
HOWEVER...Jesus calls all to come to him, and he willingly embraces all that will take up the cross and follow him, so it is not an exclusive club....anybody can join.
Christianity is not a hate group. However, Jesus died to save us from sin, and he was very clear about sin. If a person enjoys a particular sin, then he has chosen to not to accept God's forgiveness. Christians should not hate people who choose sin, however they should not try to redefine sin either. Some people consider that Christians are intolerant if they simply define certain behavior as sin, but this is exactly what Jesus did. Again, we don't hate people who sin. We simply realize that they are not in God's kingdom yet.
Look at every war and terrorist act happening in the world today...in Afghanistan, Chechnia, London, Spain, Somalia, Kenya, and even the US. Who is perpetrating them? Islamic extremists. It certainly is not sensible to lump all faith groups or "religions" together as the same, because that simply is not true.

Aren't you doing the same things as the people that say all Muslims are terrorists by asking this question? It seems to me that you are classifying Christians as hateful.
But no,Christianity is not a hate group. If you are going to call Christianity a hate group because it is 'intoerant of other beliefs' then you must also condemn atheism, because atheists,by your definition, are intolerant. They don't believe in any gods, which is far more exclusive than monotheistic religion.
Not all Christians like Mel Gibson either,so his movies or personal philosophies don't really have a bearing on this discussion.
Christians don't like the sin,but they try to love the person for who he is.Some do a better job than others.

Kind of like Michael Richards wont have a career now because he went off on black people, where Rosie O Donall bashed Christians and it will probably make her more popular.
Hate is in every group. There is no way around it. Its just that religion is easier to grab at than other groups. If a man open fired in a Mc Donalds, and said he was a Doctor, wouldnt people want to see if he really WAS a Doctor or just take his word for it and then assume that other doctors condoned this behavior? Its really easy to see if someone is really a Christian or not, if they don't follow Christs teachings, then they are not. They can sware on their mother that they are, but judge by their actions, not their words.

There is a HUGE difference between "hate" and not tolerating sin or evil. Nobody "allows" Mel Gibson to make movies. He can put together his projects with people who want to make money, and there is no evidence his movies demonstrate any hate or antipathy towards any group. Also, do not assume that an anti-Semite hates on the basis of religion; "Jew" refers as much to an ethnic group as "black" or "Hispanic."
So, no, Christianity is not a hate group.

PEOPLE are the cause of hate; not Christianity. People can take a Scripture out of context and get it to say almost ANYTHING they want it to say to fit their own personal agenda. Does that make God/Christianity responsible? No, put the responsibility where it should lie; squarely on the one who has the issues!

I don't think Christianity is in itself a hate group--I know many wonderful, kind Christians, and Jesus himself was all about love. But I agree that many people who are already hateful use their Christianity as their rationalization. ESPECIALLY in this country's horrible treatment of homosexuals.

Christianity and other revelative religions teach and practice selfless love. Hate come only from false believers and unbelievers, those who talk about God but do not obey His Divine Law.
