HBC is not difined by its music but we us Southern Gospel in our services. Youth in this area do not associate with SG and so they will go were more secular music programs exist.
The church leadership has been given the go ahead to incorporate a more youthfull aproach in the sunday night sevice. We do not want to be defined by our music but as a Bible believing, Christ centered church.

My question is this... Were do we find contempary hymnals that are not all vane repetitions but glorify God.

We are raising funds for an activity center, and are about to enter into the second of three stages. How do we get people in on the ground floor, so to speak.

At times I find myself weak in spirit and my wife tells me that I am lossing my "zest". Please pray for me and mine and any help you can offer is greatly apreciated.

Think about this. Satan tempted Jesus by offering him "all the kingdoms of the world." Yet, would Satan's offer have been a real temptation if Satan was not actually the ruler of these kingdoms? No, it would not.

Significantly, nowhere does the Bible say that either Jesus Christ or his Father are the real rulers of this world. On the contrary, Jesus said: "The ruler of this world will be cast out."

If God did indeed create this whole entire universe and create such unique complex life forms and whatnot if god is really this powerful to construct all this then why did god make humans the ability to sin? if he is the creator why not make us perfect? so he dont need to worry about us? why dont he just make us perfect and live with him in heaven if we are merely his great creation....see this is dumb...there is no god....god was created by humans alone time ago to help them guide their lives....do you guys really need to believe that a great power created your life? why cant u understand that you are apart of nature....why cant u just believe yourself?

The commonly held belief is that if you are a sinner, or don't accept Jesus or whatever, you go to hell and are punished by Satan. Is this true?

It seems counter logical to me. If lucifer is in hell because he rebelled from god and was cast down into the underworld, shouldn't he reward rather than punish those who do not obey gods rules?

This is a question about cultural beliefs. So please, no comments telling me I'm a stupid Christian for beileving in this, because frankly, I'm pretty agnostic.

Is it just a coincidence or is there actually a relationship?

If one looks at the top three reasons that a great many scholars and historians point to in the collapse/ fall of the Roman empire, the disintegration of it's societal moral values is always there...is this a plausible explanation for what is happening to society in the United States? Is America collapsing like the Roman empire? Are there any eerie parallels between the two (United States and Rome/ Roman empire)?

All right. I just heard some Christians say they were sad to see some really nice people who wouldn't be going to Heaven because they hadn't accepted Christ in their life... Now clearly, this belief in a God that sends people to Hell whether they're good or not is disturbing to you?
Ok. I'm going to try and understand this one more time...
How can you believe in a God that sends good people to an eternity of torture in Hell whether they deserve it or not, based on one single pivotal belief? How could that be God?

Okay for those who do not know and Inugami is a Dog God Spirit from the Shinto Faith of Japan, yes I believe in them and if you do not then do not answer this question please. I want to know a way that would not involve me harming a dog or what not, I would prefer a peaceful alternative to some of the more grousome ways to do it. I have heard of other ways than that of the sacrificial ritual, that I do not think is credible. However I do not know what they are and would appreciate the knowlege.

with all these home schooled, Bible thumping ignoramuses? Walk into any research lab and more than 2/3 of the people there are foreigners. We got into space thanks to good ol' Americans like Werner von Braun, and our Yankee ingenuity split the atom thanks to good ol' boys like Enrico Fermi. Are we doomed?

I guess we could start with their contention that every human being evolved from two people who lived in a magical garden--not backed up by genetics, biology, archeology, or any other branch of science. Can I see the fossil evidence for those two amazing trees? Or how about that the millions of species we see today evolved in a mere 6000 or so years, with enough genetic diversity to have actually required many millions of years. How about the fraud inflicted upon millions of children who are taught these useless fairy tales that will do absolutely nothing to increase their knowledge or enjoyment of the world? Yeah, that's a good start.
