Is there such a thing as love, or is it just another kind of fairytale painted to mislead us all?

Scientifically, love is an emotional response that stimulates all 13 of the pleasure centers in our brain at once. There are only two other things which can stimulate all of the pleasure centers simultaneously -- and that's cocaine and dark chocolate. So scientifically, love exists ...

However, does this simple emotional response mean that we will live happily ever after with the object of our affection? No. Do the other substances which *technically* make us feel the same way usually effect us positively? Overuse of chocolate makes you fat and overuse of cocaine can kill you. Why should we assume that love alone will bring anything good? Love is capable of making you feel as low as those other two similar substances.

The fairytale teaches us to falsely believe that "all you need is love". Love exists, but unless it is paired with commitment and hardwork, its basically worthless.

Can't it be both? That is, that love is actual and real, and also partly exists only through fairy tale or imagination. There is no such thing as a perfect person...however anyone who has experienced love will be certain it is real. Sometimes attraction and love has led me astray, that is, led me to people who could not or would not love me the way I needed to be loved. But I kept following my interests and passions in life and eventually came to see who my truest friends are and also found myself in love with a person who loves me in all the ways I need to be loved. I'm not at all saying that the situation is perfect but the love is.

Love, yes, an abstract feeling. Someone whom you like so deeply
would become love. You'll feel you are out of something if without the lover exist. But frequently, over love would become a hater.

"Love is patient. Love is kind. It does not envy. It does not boast. It is not proud. It is not rude. It is not self-seeking. It is not easily angered. It keeps no record of wrong doing. It does not delight in evil, but rejoices in the truth. It always protects, trusts, hopes, perseveres."

As a mother, I knew that love was real the very first instant I laid my eyes on my newborn. Love is real in many forms and ways, but the real love lasts forever.

All humans love that which gives them pleasure or meets their needs in some way. The kind of love which is very rare is non-conditional love.
