what is God_?

Why does everyone here assume that God's will and
anyone's free will should be the exact opposite? I get the
impression that most people think of God as this hard task
master--ready to smack people up side of the head every-
time they get out of line. I would never worship that kind of
God and in truth--He is NOT that kind of God!. My Lord is
fun and let's me do whatever I want. It is MY decision. Also I have learned thru experience that most of MY plans are
not so good. But HE does not stop me. He lets me go on
in my own way, and using all the resources HE has given
me and using the brain power He has given me, to
continue to whatever destination I choose. He will never
stop me, unless I ask Him to. He will show me where I'm
getting into serious trouble but it's MY decision to continue.

I will try to explain to you who the Almighty God is to me.
Sorry Lord, the closest thing I can relate it to for unbelievers
is to have a Genie beside you all the time. You ask, He
gives direction, you either follow or not. You ask for
miracles if you need them, and most time I get them. How is
that so hard! Never ever has He laid down the law to me
and said I had to obey or else. No, this is churches that
say that! or this is misinformed Pastors who make God
out to be the Bad Guy- They do it for fear. Fear will never
bring anyone to God...it only makes them mistrust Him
and hate him, and I do believe that Our Father is greatly
grieved at the lies being preached about HIM.

"Free will" comes with many limitations, such as gravity, try walking off a skyscraper and see how far your free will's gonna get you...all the way to the bottom. "Free will" comes with a burden of responsibility- so that we are not just free to kill anyone we want. Not free to take from others as we feel. Exercise thought and restraint, and try to become the best person you can be- and it would be from your own free will to do that. It's what God wants us to do. Feel free to skip the test, but the teacher is also free to fail you.- Actions come with consequences, learn something.

The will of God is for people to follow if they choose to, and many do not if they did not have the free will as you alude every one would be doing God's will would they not? But do they? Thids shows thyat wqe all have the free will even though God has a will, he has not forced anyone to be like a robot without free will of their own, so, the free will of humans is simply to chose to do God's will or to choose not to do it! Because God loves a cheerfull giver!(2Corrinthians9:7)

God's will and our free will can only coexist, biblically speaking, if we do not have the ability to look to God for salvation. This allows us to make any decisions we want with the final destination -- hell -- giving God the prerogative to elect who he wishes to be saved. And, if he can elect his own, he can do so at any time, and it mentions this in the Bible as to when he chooses -- before the foundations of the world. This makes a wanting, hoping, weak God into an all-powerful God who rules his universe, loves his own from eternity to eternity, and is completely in line with Scripture.

They can't. As Christians we are to submit our wills to God and resist our flesh. The flesh and the spirit can't co-exist. They are constantly warring with one another. It is our choice (free will) whether we follow after the things of the flesh or the things of the spirit. We have free will to make the choice to follow after God's will or our own. I hope I answered your question! God bless you!

Free will does not exist.

Romans 9:18
So then He has mercy on whomever He wills (chooses) and He hardens (makes stubborn and unyielding the heart of) whomever He wills.

Free will is the gift of choice given to us by God. He gave it to us because He wanted us to love Him freely, of our own choosing, not by force. Since God is the source of all life, we choose life when we align ourselves with His will. When we do the opposite, we put ourselves against the source of life, which is, obviously, death.

I think your answer is "neither are true save to the beholder and creator of the idea"

I will choose to laugh, freely about the idea of a "god"

In a tricky juxtaposition.

God knows the choices available to you, and He knows what will happen with the choices you make. The actual decision is left to you
