Okay for those who do not know and Inugami is a Dog God Spirit from the Shinto Faith of Japan, yes I believe in them and if you do not then do not answer this question please. I want to know a way that would not involve me harming a dog or what not, I would prefer a peaceful alternative to some of the more grousome ways to do it. I have heard of other ways than that of the sacrificial ritual, that I do not think is credible. However I do not know what they are and would appreciate the knowlege.

Unfortunatley nobody seem sto be taking this seriously except to a slight degree the one called Cheers For All. However if you had actually payed attention to what I had said you would have realized that I said I do not find the Sacrificial Ritual to be credible, meaning I do not believe in it. Also there are supposed to be other ways of summoning an Inugami, the Inugami supposed to be summoned via the Sacrificial root are supposed to be very angry spirits who often turn on their summoners. However that is not the route I wish to follow. And to your answer about God not taking form of a dog I think that is a bucnch of bull. I am not a christian or any other form of Monothestic belief, I believe in multiple Gods called Kami. I am a shintoist and you are not going to change that with just a few words.

Rabbityama thank you for your comment, I think you truley took it seriously. However I do believe in Inugami 100% I just don't believe the particular belief that you have to bury a dog first. I know there are other ways that are supposed to work as well, I just don't understand them well enough yet. Maybe the burial does work, however I do not think that a person with pure intentions would do this, only selfish people would do this. I know there is risks to summoning an Inugami, however that is a risk I am willing to take because what I need it for is something that would benifit not only myself but you and everybody and everything that lives on this planet. I am trying to learn the ways of Onmyodo for a greater chance of controling the Inugami.

Also I have recently read something about going to a priest of the Shinto/Onmyodo Faith and asking them to summon one for you is aa possibility. Where you will then make some kind of Contract with the Inugami binding your soul to theirs.

Well, the general belief is that it IS necessary to bury the dog up to its neck, place food nearby (but out of reach), and allow the dog to die. I'm not promoting killing dogs, but this is how it is done. If you don't accept it, then you don't truly believe in Inugami.

However, there are also those who believe that the power of Inugami can only be harnessed by onmyouji (onmyodo). In this case, I think the power comes from those Inugami that OTHERS have already created through the dog-burial.

Inugami are considered to be extremely powerful, and sometimes unpredictable (because they have an evil aura), so the Inugami-mochi (owner) must be aware that it could turn on him/her.

My brother and friend... please take a moment and contemplate your words..... a dog God... is God so trivial a thing to take the form of a dog....

... we do not summon God, He comes into our lives when we love him and he changes our lives accordingly....

... summoning rituals always involve evil spirits disguising themselves as whatever you want to summon... then afterwards they reveal themselves....

... dismissing them becomes a very hard task that can haunt the summoner for years.... these are facts... many have tried what you are saying above and other forms of summoning as well...

.... and let me tell you one final thing, if this spirit requires a sacrifice of life then this spirit has surely labeled itself as evil... life is precious... too precious to be spent to summon and talk to somebody.....

... God bless you!

To summon a Good Dog Spirit you must say, "Here, Inugami! C'mon, buddy! Inugami! Here, pup! C'mon! Good dog."
