I believe in only one true God Allah but I dont pray the 5 times a day...I try to the best of my ability to follow the muslim way..

You are better others and worse than others. No need to pat yourself on the back; no need to pity yourself. If you really think you are doing something wrong then discard that habit and change your ways. Salam. Only Allah knows what is truly in your heart.
P.S. While prayer is an important aspect of Islam, lack thereof does not constitute apostacy. You can be Muslim and not pray. It depends on why you don't pray that is more important. Is it because you're lazy or because you don't think Allah deserves praise? Insha'Allah God will have mercy on us all and guide us to the straight path.

yes you are.a Muslim that abandons the 5 prayers take them of Islam and is considered a apostate.and all Islamic scholars agree on that.prayer is one the most important aspects.
how can you say that you do the best you can do.when you can't even do something as simple as taking 5 minutes (5 times which makes 25 minutes per day) out of your day to pray.
p.s on the day of judgment, prayer will be the first thing Allah will ask you about and you will be judge on how you were with your prayers.

As a Christian I know the importance of prayer and I know what it is to be human(there is none perfect, not one). I will not try to pretend to know the Muslim way but I will share that we as God fearing people should stay in conscious contact (pray without ceasing) with God to stay strong and resist the temptations of this world

You better do exactly what muhammad said or else when you go to hell for being a muslim muhammad will make you the new Ayesha. Pray 6 times a day for the rest of your life to the pagan moon god allah if you want to make up for the time you have not been a good muslim.

In Islam,
It's the only thing that differentiate a believer and a non believer.
The moment you abandon your 5 times a day, the moment you're a disbeliever, and if you die at that moment you're going to where disbelievers go ....
You can do better than that. :)
