Think about this. Satan tempted Jesus by offering him "all the kingdoms of the world." Yet, would Satan's offer have been a real temptation if Satan was not actually the ruler of these kingdoms? No, it would not.

Significantly, nowhere does the Bible say that either Jesus Christ or his Father are the real rulers of this world. On the contrary, Jesus said: "The ruler of this world will be cast out."

You sound like a heretic to me!!! (just kidding!)
Actualy the Cathars thought that the world was ruled and created by a choas demon (demiurge) sometimes associated with Satan... They thought all physical reality was inherently evil and only the spirit could be pure.... Interesting theology!
THOUGH, I think the Devil is temping Jesus by implying that he himself (Jesus) as the Son of God (And the Son of Man) has the power to rule the world if he so chooses.... At least that's the way I was taught it..... I think only humans rule the world- it's all part of that "free will" thing......

I do not feel the statement of Jesus applies in the literal sense meaning the ruler is Satan.
If I personally felt that Satan even exists, I cannot see the logic in God creating a world and all life (including us) steaming from the creator only to surrender to an identity that is totally opposite to who God is.

I see the word "ruler" symbolic for the Roman Empire that was dominate during Jesus moments on Earth.

God rules it because he freed the people of Isreal, Noah's Ark, and etc.........What I am saying is God has more power than Satan not only in the other world but also here on earth. Remember the about the story of Job. Satan told God to take away all of Job's posessions, family, servents, and to give him a disease. He told God to do it because he can't. Satan can't cause an earthquake nor can he make the world rain for 40 days and nights. Satan is not allowed to kill people. Just tempt. A person who is demonically posessed can't kill a human being. Rather a exorcism is done under Jesus' name to get the demon out.
