I went through a crisis of faith for about a year, but I finally discovered I had an incorrect idea of God and didn't read the Bible properly, and reverted to Christianity. A friend of mine now experiences a similar kind of crisis, but I'm hesitant about helping her out. I like the fact that I solved my problem on my own (I discovered a lot when I was a self-proclaimed atheist), and I found that temporarily "dropping out" of church helpful, but should I assume that she wants to solve her problem the same way? Or should I tell her everything I've learned without letting her find out on her own?

I don't think so...

Maybe in the sense that when you die you are "asleep". Just like when you sleep 8hrs seems like mere seconds. So it would make sense that as soon as you die it is as if you were instantly present with the Lord.

Where in the bible does it say you go to heaven as soon as your dead?

Christ is coming back to earth to call up the dead, right?

1 Corinthians 15 says the dead are in grave. Where does it say that the soul goes direct to heaven or hell? I believe this is false doctrine.

Agree or disagree?

I have been wondering this. God created the universe and all the animals on Earth. But what about other planets? Did God create creatures on other planets, too? I am Christian and I believe in aliens. I don't want to go against my religion, so anwsers please!

also died over MM years ago and neither rose up except mayby on a roman torture stake. Roman torture stake (ie italians) not Holy Romans (ie German) and perhaps thats why Roman empire fell cause Jews hated Roman.

We don't hate you we love you desperately and don't want you to burn. We are no different than you just saved by grace, not because we deserve it but because we believe in the only begotten Son of God. I would be offended if my neighbor didn't try to wake me up cause they didn't want to wake me from a blissful slumber. Why is this so hard to see? Is it our fault?

Jesus said "the kingdom of God is within you". Why would I be trying to behave a certain way here on earth to get somewhere that is already within me?? I mean, how can I go to heaven "when I die", if heaven is within me??

This isn't about any one situation, but about human nature and/or religious values in general. Many times, I have heard people say, "I forgive, but won't forget". This is something I simply don't understand. In my view, if I can't forget something, then I simply can't forgive it, because I define forgiveness as wiping the slate clean and move on, in other words, you either forgive or you don't. There is no middle ground.

I would appreciate anyone's viewpoint and help me understand the term, because after nearly five decades on this earth, I still fail to understand such a notion.

TODD was one of them because in times new roman font LORD contains name TODD within and GODDESS contains name TODD within thus when people call Me TODD then unknowingly call Me the same name of GOD the SON and bible said God would protect His namesakes and also Orphans which I AM is.

Thus when italians pronounce My first name larri and i have those IVI sealed together cuts on My left it means when bible said God glorifies HIMSELF in HIM thus also in HIMSELF it meant early bible scholars saw God=G+o+d=7+15+4= 26=2+6=8=H thus God as 1 is H and glorified(identified in) in HIM(ie GOD I IVI sealed together) and also glorified in HIMSELF(GOD I IVI sealed together SE LF(see LFT).
So how on earth DID the Bible writers see My wrist 100's of years in advance? I didn't purposely cut my wrists to satisfy those verses but in hindsight it appears I AM one of the bodies of God.

I have tried to listen to what God has to say, but when I do hear him, it is simple messages in my heart, nothing specific to the questions I have. Is the Voice of God just my conscience and it has been with me my whole life without knowing it?

I was raised in a christian home and I have read the bible. My question is how do religions choose which parts of the bible to practice and which parts to ignore? How do you decide when something no longer applies?
Example: When I was a kid we were not allowed to eat pork, shrimp, crab, etc.
But there are so many christians that do. The bible says that is wrong. Why do many christians do it anyway?
My old preacher use to preach that the bible said that you are not suppose to decorate your body or wear ornaments. Is that true? If it is why do so many christians wear jewelry.
I really mean no disrespect...I really was just wondering.

I ask this because i heard many Christians saying that verses from Dueteronomy, Exodus are not to be followed because New Testament came and fulfilled them. In that case i wonder why does this not apply to Genesis also?

It will happen in the disciple's lifetime. Yet it hasn't happened.

It has happened to me more than once today. At 7 in the morning, it was messing with my computer. It was blinking on and off like you wouldn't believe and messing with the speakers. Then this afternoon it was turning my tv on and off and sounded like it was trying to mess with the tv sound too.

Should I try to talk to it, or do you think for sure it's probably an evil spirit because it's making all of this ruckus, maybe trying to scare me? Is there a way to just make the spirits go away if they get troublesome? I have two small kids in the house, ages 4 and 6 and I don't want them to get scared by the spirits.

When it was messing with the tv I did say, 'by the power of Jesus Christ I command you to leave", I was told that by members of my church, and I think it worked.

I was flicking through an old testement, reading the bit about the plagues of Egypt. I was really shocked by how violent the book is, with the egyptions killing jewish babies, and then god killing egyption children. Is god psychotic or what? Why didn't he kill the egyption adults who'd done the killing of the jewish children? I can't worship any god who commits enfanticide.

I am not religious, but am effected by folks who are. They are always hating and murdering in the name of god...Does anyone else see this as so? And if you do can you explain to me why when you are taught not to kill or hate that you still do? It was not beaten into my head but somehow I tend to live and let live, and value human life and feelings, Why can't these religous folks do what they are preached?
