I ask this because i heard many Christians saying that verses from Dueteronomy, Exodus are not to be followed because New Testament came and fulfilled them. In that case i wonder why does this not apply to Genesis also?

Parts of Deuteronomy and Exodus include ceremonious laws that Jews were told to follow. Just because the laws were written down for the Jews does not mean that we have to follow these laws. Jesus fulfilled the OT laws so that we don't have to. We are still to follow God's commands (like the ten commandments) but we don't have to make sacrifices or go through ceremonial washings (which are the kinds of laws that we say we don't need to follow) because Jesus paid for our sins so we don't need any more cleansing of them. We believe everythng written, we just aren't required to follow those ceremonial laws anymore.

I believe everything written in Genesis. There are other reasons why some people who call themselves Christians do not beleive all of the book of Genesis. (I say "call themselves Christians" because I do not know if they are really Christians or not; God knows and that is between them and God).

I hope this helps:)

Yes and if a law or custom changes is does not mean that what we don't believe or trust anything. If we had a law about not spitting on the side walk 100 years ago and now we no longer have that law does not mean the history of the United States is somehow questionable. Also the moral law has not changed. Only the laws that were ceremonial in that they were used until Christ would come and fulfill them. Now they are not needed because He has done away with the need. Also some laws just meant for the Nation of Israel are no longer binding on us. But moral laws like do not steal, do not kill etc. have not changed.

the Old Testament was put in place to follow...that was under the law....Christ came and fulfilled the Law, when He died on the cross as a perfect sacrifice,,,,if you are saved you live under grace(which is-God not giving you what you have earned...hell) and not the law...doesn't mean we can throw the Old Testament away, cuz w/o it we wouldn't knw what the law was, to knw if we were breaking it or not. noone could keep the Law, and that is why Jesus came ,to keep it and make a way for us to get to heaven. there is NO other way . And yes, i believe everything written in Genesis.....it is still God's Word and True....but He gave us the New Test. to show us how to live since there is now no more condemnation -through Christ Jesus the LORD, cuz He fulfilled everything that we could not....we were, are, and always will be sinners, He was PERFECT, therefore His blood covers our sin and God does not see it anymore if you accept Jesus into your heart, and ask Him to forgive you for being a sinner.

Things have changed since the Old Testament because of Christ dying for us. People no longer had to make animal sacrifices for their sins as the Israelites did in the Old Testament--because Jesus was the ultimate sacrifice.
Yes of course we believe in Genesis. I'm not sure why anyone would call himself a Christian if he didn't believe part of the Word of God.

It's the Old Testament Laws that we no longer follow. We don't doubt they existed, and they have nothing to do with Genesis. We just don't believe we need to follow the Old Law since Christ brought a New Law.

i've got faith thet Genesis is the certainty and lays the very commencing up for something of scripture. for this reason that places me below your upstart American church identify. So be it yet i'm British! I relatively have faith that God created the universe in 6 days and oftentimes ask your self why he took see you later. in spite of each thing he would have achieved it in an on the spot. God did not denounce evolution simply by fact there is no such element. How can God denounce some thing that doesn't exist? All Gods ability to the church homes that denounce the evolution lie and prefer to place advent coaching purely, in faculties. properly reported Andy.

Most of the OT law is given in Exodus thru Deuteronomy. Very few are given in Genesis.

One cannot believe everything written in Genesis, as much of the text is self contradictory. For instance, the order of "creation" is changed between the two creation stories in chapters one and two. No honest, thoughtful person can get any further than that with faith intact.

Christ brought us a new covenant. But He did not tell us not to do what the Old testament says.We are to obey the whole Bible. From front to back
