Evolution cannot be tested using the scientific method because it is impossible to calibrate a controlled experiment to suit the parameters required.

Evolution, therefore, is not science. Just as ID is not science.

If one is taught in "science" class, both should be taught.

If one is excluded from being taught, they should both be excluded from being taught.

NO! It is also a fact. The theory of Evolution (the how and why) supports the fact of Evolution (the what).

PLEASE to all who believe Evolution is "just" a theory - go to this site.

http://www.talkorigins.org/faqs/evolution-fact.html

From the site:
"Well evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape-like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

A serious question, not trolling, for those who hold that the Old Testament outlawing of homosexuality holds today.

Many people point out the other Old Testament laws that are NOT held to apply today. Eg eating pork, blood, shrimps, the lawfullness of selling your daughter into slavery etc.

Why is it that these laws are not thought to be binding on Christians but the law against homosexuality is?

Use the person's first name, but not their full name. I don't want personal information, just their first name and the prayer request. Any person is welcome to share their request, no matter their belief. :) ~Jewel

Many people who ask and answer here are all about being Christian, fundies, or whatever, or "hating on" peole who are. Can we get some real meaning attached to this category? Can you please drop all that label stuff and find common ground?
BTW I think the present Pope is divisive, derisive, and damned. John Paul was an inclusionist. I think the whole world is suffering from this papacy. You'd think it would just be for Catholics, but I don't know... ideas flow outside of labels anyway. Post some positive ones!

For those that don't know what a scientific theory actually is, I'm just gonna dumb this one down to your level, and we'll just call evolution a "theory", assuming that it is, in fact, a wild guess. (Which is what a lot of the believers here seem to think it is)

Please explain why you believe Intelligent Design is a proven fact, while Evolution is just a "theory"...

My point being, there is no evidence supporting Intelligent Design, so why is it that you are so sure that it's a fact? Meanwhile, the proven "theory" of evolution conflicts with nothing, and is the basis for just about every life science out there today.

So I'm curious how one can justify that in his own head...

I realize that this has been asked many times before. But what you it be? Mine would be that we could all be innocent as children again, with our relationship with God. That we can look on the world with the love of a child - love everyone and everything uncondtionally despite their beliefs. There would be no fundamentalists, there would be no liberal haters - we would all love one another. Straight, Muslim, Christian, Gay - everyone would love one another unconditionally. What about you?

"Any religion that professes to be concerned about the souls of men and not concerned about the city government that damns the soul, the economic conditions that corrupt the soul, the slum conditions, the social evils that cripple the soul, is a dry, dead, do-nothing religion in need of new blood," King preached in 1962 to his congregation at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta.
