The Old Testament points to the New Testament, and the New Testament fulfills the Old Testament. You either take the Bible in it's entirety or you don't take it at all. Jesus is the fulfillment of the Old Testament. If you read the Gospel of John you should find all the answers you are looking for. In fact, if you want to become a christian, this is the Gospel that you should really start with.

By the way, I am a Christian and I take the Bible as a whole and I try to follow the bible in it's entirety. I don't pick and chose. If I don't understand something in the Bible I go and ask my pastor.

I will be praying for you.

You must have met some pretty hypocritical Christians in the past!
I say if you don't believe a part of the Bible, then just don't believe any of it; it's all or nothing.
Try reading Matthew; it's the first book in the New Testament. The Bible can be confusing sometimes if you don't have someone there to help you with it. Find a cool church to go to, that can help clear up a lot of questions you probably have.

Becoming a Christian is not about following rules and regulations and laws. To become a Christian one has to be born again spiritually on the inside. One has to receive Christ Jesus and make Him Lord of one's life and believe Him as the Saviour and repent of one's sins. A Christian has the Holy Spirit living inside of him and his own spirit has been renewed and made alive. When you are made alive on the inside, you will know for sure that you are alive in Christ. Then begins your journey of discovery about the bible and learning to live a Christ-like life. It's not the other way around.

You do not have a clear understanding of Christianity, we do not trash any part of the Bible. All of the Bible is for the benefit of building your faith in God. Base your belief on Jesus not people and you would go wrong.

The bible is the word of God it should be followed from the first book of Genesis to the last verse in the book Revelation. The Lord has given a warning anyone who adds or takes away from his holy book.

Revelation 22:18-19
18 I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book. 19 And if anyone takes words away from this book of prophecy, God will take away from him his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book.

God makes the laws, he is wise, fair and omnipotent;since he created us in his own image why should we think he does not know and have our best intentions in mind? It better to serve the Lord, than face a penalty for our disobedience.

I'm a born again Christian myself and I can tell you simply that the ENTIRE bible is what you follow - not just parts of it. The whole bible from front to back is God's word - you DON'T trash any of it! You practice all of what God has written in His word.

You need to change your name to something like 'Jesus is Lord'.

John 14:14 says, “If you love Me, keep My commandments.

James 2:10 says, "For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all. 11 For He who said, “Do not commit adultery," also said, “Do not murder.” Now if you do not commit adultery, but you do murder, you have become a transgressor of the law."
