Weren't you taught creation before evolution? I was taught to believe in god and creation when I was just 3 years old. Only later did I learn about biology.
When we are taught things as very small children, it is based on authority, not reason. As children, these lessons can become strongly ingrained, because we are surrounded by parents, family, and society, all of whom reinforce the belief system.
The term "brainwash" may be a bit harsh, but the fact is, parents teach small children many things without providing reasons or alternatives. I taught my children many safety rules without explaining why, when they were very young. I guess this could be called brainwashing because I didn't want them to question me on this. Similarly, amish people have amish children, muslem people have muslem children. In all cases, these children have been brainwashed in the sense that they have only been taught one belief system.
I think that creationists are also sometimes said to be brainwashed because their creationist beliefs are based on faith or authority, as opposed to reason and science. In a way, faith is the antithesis of reason and thinking, so the term "brainwashed" can refer to someone who does not seem to be using their brain to question authority, ask for evidence, or consider alternatives.
I hope that's helpful.

Probably no longer. Why one-of-a-kind races get one-of-a-kind traditional IQs might be a school stage area to research, alongside the traces of sociology. Evolution is a realistic organic indisputable fact that any little child can recognize. When a pupil will get into school and learns precisely how evolution can occur and has been located, that might be an possibility to speak approximately diverging populations and what can outcomes. Edit: Meg is correct. Real scientists do not respect separate races of persons. That's partially why I stated it might be a sociology elegance as a substitute of an specific biology elegance.

Because the concept of evolution is very important to some people. It is at the root of Marxism (Class Struggle) and Nazism (the Master Race). It is contrary to Americanism - the idea that we are endowed by our Creator with certain unalienable Rights.
Evolution seems to make totalitarianism more acceptable. I believe that this explains government's hostility towards religious expression, in spite of the fact that it is protected by the First Amendment. There is an expression: you will be ruled by God or you will be ruled by man. Evolution teaches that man is just another animal. And animals are easy to control.

Education and brainwashing are two separate things.
Also – not a young age, kids don’t start learning about evolution until later in high school and even then, it’s covered briefly. It’s a shame really that we don’t educate them on the subject more than that.

Amen! I was brainwashed by my school into believing that evolution was the truth of our existance and that belief brought me nothing but pain and misery until I finally became a Christian! God be praised for having patience with me when I was foolishly denying his existance and law!
With the secularization of America is coming a wave of persecution against believers. Calling them stupid and inferior is only the 1st step. Kind of like Nazi germany, soon theyll start calling us animals.

You call yourself sheep, my dear. In fact, you pride yourself on it. If you don't want to be considered brainwashed, pick an animal that doesn't blindly follow a leader - and I do mean blindly. You may as well call yourself lemmings and be proud of it. Sheep, though soft and nice to look at, are dumb animals. There's simply no way to be polite about that - it's a fact of the animal kingdom.

Evolution is the best model that science has been able to come up with so far. If you go to public school then you have to take science.
Would you want to learn about the Christian belief of creationism in a science classroom along with the Hindu belief and the Janis belief and the Scientologist belief to name a few?
If you really don't want to hear about science then you are free and encouraged to find a private Christian school.
Good luck

Religious teachings have no place in public schools. People are of course free to teach whatever religion they choose at home or churches, etc.
As for seeking a truth, it's hard to do that when your "truth" has all been written down for you and you go to Hell if you don't believe in it.

It's the same people that think science has all the answers. However they do not understand that science is to help understand the world around us. It cannot tell us how things came about and why things are exactly as they are. But they will take things completely out of whack. (evolution for example). Besides, they do not understand the ways of God therefore they don't care. And it seems that if science can't explain it, then it doesn't matter to them.
