Matthew 4:10
Jesus said to him, "Away from me, Satan! For it is written: 'Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.' "

1 John 2:15-17 says, "Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever."

Is not it the other way around if by authority you mean God, our creator, sustainer, nourisher?
By bowing to such authority we show our thankfulness to Almighty God who created us, then continued providing nourishing and protection thus showing our humanity and obedience. Should we show un-thankfulness to such a High Authority and undermine our humanity.

Especially since you were "created in God's image, and filled with God" (see: spirit, holy).

I think the worst part is how little they respect this life. I mean take this crap:

Basic
Instructions
Before
Leaving
Earth

Shouldn't the bible be basic instructions while living here, and now on earth? Sorry it doesn't spell anything, but maybe you get a new book in heaven (or hell).

Guide to hell:

- Wear sunscreen mwhahahahaha

If you mean to a god that may or not exist, then no. I think if I bowed down to a god that I'm not sure exists, then I'm not being true to myself.

In order for humans to survive as a species, isn't that something we all do?
