God please grant me the ability to accept the things I can not change.....

How does this prayer go? And is it true that this is a "12 Step" program prayer?

It told women that they better fight and they better scream and they would be punished if they just let some man rape them.

So you mean to tell me that if I'm dragged into an alley at gunpoint or knife point, and my rapist proceeds to hold the gun to my head/knife to my throat, and tells me if I make a sound he will kill me, it is my fault for being raped and I will be punished if I chose to be assaulted rather than lose my life? How many other Christians believe this is so? Please, a show of hands. Because a Christian woman actually just SAID this in a post, and it's a darned good thing that this is just an online forum, because if a woman actually said this to me in real life I might have to pull her hair out by the roots.

Yeah, believe in something that we can't see or touch or even smell, it's the same as faith. But, we have locked ourselves into a prison that we can't taste, touch, or smell. Are we cheating ourselves?

i don't understand why people follow religion do you really think some magical being is going to whisk you away to a magical land when you die. I just think its engrained on peoples dna, essentially religion must to have started out of fear, obey what i say and what my god says or you'll get hurt? thats real benevolent

please please let me know that there is peace loving Christ like Christians out there
ones who love , who dont judge , who accept others no matter who they are
we see so many nasty comments from people who i believe are giving Christianity a bad name ...
yes the same as there are people from other religions who give them a bad name
but please tell me there are some here who are actually practising what they preach ?
ok i am not a Christian , i may not agree with you guys all the time ... but i know there is meant to be a message of love in your religion that just isnt being seen often enough in here

Why does anyone think that someone else can attone for your 'so called' sins? Only you can ask forgiveness, only you can right your wrongs. Jesus was a great man. He died. He did nothing for us, because he lived 2000 years ago. Why do people live in such fear of living their lives? If you think, really ponder and pray, God will show you that we are all connected to him. Not thru Jesus. He was one of us. Just a man. Then you will see how much hate and sin erupts from man made religion.

And who would write this about themselves:

Jeremiah 17:9 "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked:who can know it?"

Man couldnt have written the bible if he wanted to. Who would say that hating someone is the same as murder and who would say lusitng after a woman is the same as adultery UNLESS it was God behind the whole thing?

It gets crazier. You see, the Quran is not just written in Arabic, but its written in a special dialect, or "Quranic Arabic". This is not the same Arabic of today, so essentially its another language, not spoken today. Well if no one speaks the language, why the hell did Allah even bother! I mean, who can we trust here, after all, all of it is nothing but translation.

Faith set aside, christians want to look away from allah, buddah, etc.....yet christianity is one of the newest religions there are.
Not only that a lot of them just repeat what is told to them and never really actually studied or went outside christianity.

Christians seem to assume that God condemns rape and that this His condemnation can be supported from reading the Bible.in some passages God seems to tacitly sanction rape.In the Old Testament Moses encourages his men to use captured virgins for their own sexual pleasure, i.e. to rape them.
