I'm the president of my youth department and we do the same thing every year for our youth conference. Thursday night we have bible classes, Friday night we have a service and Saturday afternoon we have all singing, praise dancing, poetry, etc. We also bbq outside on that saturday. I want to do something different this year, any suggestions?

To make women happy?

I mean, is a huge phallus tantamount to multiplying fish or bread in a basket, for the good ones to take?

"But I want you to be free from concern. One who is unmarried is concerned about the things of the Lord, how he may please the Lord. But one who is married is concerned about the things of the world, how he may please his wife. His attention is divided. An unmarried woman or a virgin is concerned about the Lord's things so that she may be holy in body and in spirit. But the married woman is concerned about earthly things, about how she can please her husband." 1 Cor. 7:32-34

Do you see why it is better for priests, nuns, not to marry?

I for one, would enjoy prophcieying for dollars. How does one become a celebrity religous guru? Even if not famous, I'd to know Washington, Lincoln, Grant, and Franklin.. I'd also like to preach to B.J.'s clones by the hundreds of millions. So how does one get to become a liscensed prophet for profit?

Do you think that if the bible and koran had only just been discovered for the first time ever recently and the whole world had been atheists that anyone would actually take them serious? And would Organised religions would emerge? Or would they just a story in the papers for a while and then the general public would forget about? If you had never heard anything about religion for your entire life and then someone handed you the bible would you believe any of it?

For atheists: How do you deny the existance of a supreme being or messiyah when the time on your very watch is set by his death? Did you know that time itself has been set according to the death of the messiyah?

For Christians: How is it you deny the very simple premise of there never being a Jesus Christ in existance (in the way Christians believe it--son of God, basically)?

I mean, firstly, The Letter J didn't exist during the era the messiyah was around, and there still isn't one in the language he spoke to this day (or even a sound similar to the sound made by it), Secondly, Christ is a title and not a surname, and it didn't exist until after his death. Finally, "God" didn't have a baby boy sent to establish anything--it never was documented in any translation or transliteration of the Bible of it being that way. Every version says that the Messiyah was sent to fulfill the Jewish Covenant, and move it out of the way so we could be saved. I'd ask more, but I'm out of letters.

This web site -- http://www.BringBackTheBible.com -- wants the Bible to be used in schools. They say that there are messsages in the Bible that go beyond any one religion. Do you agree that the Bible should be used in schools if the content is not religious and the use does not promote one particular religion? Or is this fundamentally wrong because the Bible is always religion?

The reason I ask is based on this peaceful verse:

Quran 8:67 “it is not for any prophet to have captives until he hath made slaughter in the land. http://cwis.usc.edu/dept/msa/quran/008.qmt.html

This was revealed through the pedophile prophet Muhammad (sbuh) who was supposed to be the last pedophile prophet of God BUT as you can see here, Allah gives an instruction for any PROPHET AFTER MUHAMMAD who is murdering all unbelievers in a specific land, not to take any captives until all the unbelievers are murdered.

So obviously there must be other pedophilic prophets to follow AFTER Muhammad otherwise this verse is addressed to NOBODY!

To me, it's the whole design, this self-righteous 'save them, they are sinners' mentality, you would never enjoy the company of other perspectives because you would constantly be angling on how to convert them. You wouldn't listen, you be waiting for your turn to talk and tell them YOUR views.

Plus the whole concept 'heave or hell, God is perfect, jesus died for you, LOVE LOVE LOVE yet I can be a hypocrite' view just kind of creeps me out.

Maybe that is why some call it Bible thumping.

This is to the inane question of plants before the sun.
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
2 Now the earth was [a] formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.

3 And God said, "LET THER BE LIGHT," and there was light. 4 God saw that the light was good, and He separated the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light "day," and the darkness he called "night." And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day.

6 And God said, "Let there be an expanse between the waters to separate water from water." 7 So God made the expanse and separated the water under the expanse from the water above it. And it was so. 8 God called the expanse "sky." And there was evening, and there was morning—the second day.
And so on.

Plants came after the light.

I would have to see what you are reading.

How weird and strange all of that is, I don't really get it, don't people look or think a little bit more into it about what that is all about?

We were create, we screwed up, we pay the price, then we get judged, with the result being eternal love or eternal suffering, interesting, sounds like a good story, but I hold the opinion that the universe and us is a bit more complex than that. That version sounds like something our minds would create to make sense of chaotic incomprehension, rather than the ultimate real truth beneath the surface and behind the curtains.

The mother in question is my boyfriend's, and she recently found out he's Pagan.

She completely flipped out, and I don't know what to do about it. I mean, COMPLETELY. She yelled at him, took his Pagan books away, and when he said he was scared to tell her about it because he was scared she'd act the way she was, she yelled at him more.

She things Paganism is Satanic... is there a way to get through to her that Paganism isn't an evil religion at all? (to be specific, Kemeticism and Wicca)

Bible Thumpers need not apply to this question, because I know you'll whip out verses saying it is evil. I encourage everyone to give the Thumpers thumbs down, because I need help, not criticism.
