If Christ is The one and True God As some claim then how come at 1 Corinthians 15:20-28 say that when "all things are subjected to chirst with the exception of the one who subjected all things to him, then the Son will also subject himself to the One who subjected all things to him, that God may be all things to everyone." So why would Jesus subject himself to God if he is God?
And at Hebrews 5:7 it mentions Christ was favorable heard by God for his Godly fear and reverance of God.
Why would christ need godly fear if he were God in the flesh?

I keep hearing people giving their opinions on the religious types and the non-religious types, saying that the other side's reasons for dispute are this, that and the other.

But do they ever sit down and think "Well, that's actually a pretty good argument, maybe I should do some research into it before I simply put them down out of sheer spite."

Quite simply, why do YOU assume you know what the other "side"'s agenda is?

when historical records indicate the "miracle" of the oil burning for eight days is a sham. It never happened! It's just another one of those Talmud/Torah absurdities which make the bible read like a joke!

You never hear any other religion, (buddhist, jews, pagans, etc.) bagging on people for believing in what ever they want.. but most Christians give other religions a big fat thumbs down.. why can't they just let people believe in what they want without telling them they're going to BURN IN HELL!?

And I don't want to hear the excuse, "but he's the one true God."
That ones getting a little old.. I want to know why they have this hatred towards other religions.

but I never see anyone doing the same for Judaism. Wouldnt the most logical thing to do is to disprove Judaism and Christianity follows. Why target Christianity?

seriously I have never met so many people trying to convince other people to believe in what they believe.

Can people not just accept that people are diverse and naturally will have differing opions on all issues including religion, there is no need to preach that one or another is right.

Morpheus didnt exist, and yet he has a message of truth. The rest of the prophets may or may not have existed, and yet their message was untrue.

So if there really ever was a true Prophet, couldnt we say that Morpheus was the only true one? The first and last.

Now, dont go stalking Laurence Fishburne like some Jodi Foster fan, just try to follow me here. Morpheus was trying to free humanity from the enslavement of the Matrix...an artifical false construct that created an illusory dreamworld meant to keep humanity down. Isnt that religion?

Religion supresses human progress and feeds war. Some religions more than others, with Islam easily being the worst.

In the movie, the Matrix served the interests of robots but in real life, whose interests does the religionmatrix serve? The answer is complex. Religion can serve the interests of the state so as to keep the poor hopeful and the soldiers willing to die.

But religion also serves the weak (continued below)

I have noticed, frequently, that when a religious question (or answer) takes an intellectual turn; the answers stop flooding in or stop altogether. This leaves me to believe that many have merely and emotional attachment to faith and not a reasoned or enlightened one.

Many modern medicines were originally derived from herbs and other plants. For example, for centuries the Chinese Fir was used as a treatment for asthma & bronchitis. It wasn't discovered until the 1800's that it actually contains Ephedrine a substance used, in modern day medicine, in the treatment of pulmonary disorders and allergies. Also, it had long been known that the bark of the White Willow had pain relieving properties. Scientists isolated the active ingredients, a group of compounds called salicylates. A bit of work in the lab and they produced acetylsalicylic acid... now the main ingredient of... Aspirn !

What of people who do not like their bodies? Those that have been born severely disabled, will they keep their deformities in the afterlife? What of mentally disabled people? Are they still mentally deficient in the next life? And if they are cured do they loose part of who they are in identity? Are elderly people elderly for eternity? And what of dead babies, miscarriages and abortions? It hardly seems right that a fair God would allow people to live all of eternity with their physical ailments or even as a embryonic ball of stem cells.

Scientists have identified homo erectus as the ancestor of homo antecessor, who in turn was the ancestor of homo neanderthalis (neanderthals) and homo sapiens. The modern homo sapien sapien derives from homo sapien idaltu, who lived almost 160,000 years ago in Pleistocene Africa.

Homo erectus is the species that first discovered fire and spread to many parts of the earth, leaving an abundant fossil record. It represents one stage in our physical evolution, but stages both before and after homo erectus have been discovered, making a complete fossil record back to ardipithecus kadabba, which lived between 5.8 million to 5.2 million years ago.

I would be interested to know what creationists can offer to explain this. I'm not interested in replies like "This is a lie" or "It's not true 'coz the Bible says so" or anything similar. I actually want to know how creationists explain this in their theory.

BTW, I believe in God AND evolution and that these early humans had eternal souls.

"Let there be light"

Okay, that's about what you'd expect from goat herders who couldn't understand the fusion reaction in the sun.

"god separated day from night"

What else could explain day and night to people who didn't realize the were on a rotating orb in space?

"god took a rib from Adam and made Eve"

And we're taking stem cells and making new ribs.

How long are people going to embrace this ridiculous tome written by ignorant goat herders? Nonsense at expense of progress! True understanding comes from abandoning dogma, questioning "faith", and searching for facts - the very thing brave scientists, doctors, philosophers, and free-thinkers did throughout history, despite ridicule, religious threats and persecution.

The modern world, all the incredible achievements you take for granted, are the products of people who refused to "accept" what they were told, who questioned what everyone believed was absolutely true.

Imagine what might happen to you if you started to question!

I want to teach my children about god. I have read them several bible stories but I have had to improvise on them as most are too gross in detail. I remember my parents reading me a book- I think it was called Are you afraid of the Dark? It was a book with questions, for example- Are you afraid of the dark?- You should not be afraid of the dark because god is watching over you.... then it will give reference to a scripture in the bible. Does anyone know this book or any others similar? Also what is a kid friendly book with bible stories- Adam & Eve, Noahs Ark, e.t.c....& where can I order/browse on-line? I live in Australia.
