I want to teach my children about god. I have read them several bible stories but I have had to improvise on them as most are too gross in detail. I remember my parents reading me a book- I think it was called Are you afraid of the Dark? It was a book with questions, for example- Are you afraid of the dark?- You should not be afraid of the dark because god is watching over you.... then it will give reference to a scripture in the bible. Does anyone know this book or any others similar? Also what is a kid friendly book with bible stories- Adam & Eve, Noahs Ark, e.t.c....& where can I order/browse on-line? I live in Australia.

Hello there!

If I may suggest the My Book of Bible Stories. It has questions in the back for each story, plus scriptures you can look up with YOUR OWN copy of the Bible.

Here is the link that shows it to you..... (You have to scroll down a little bit on the page to find it) http://www.watchtower.org/e/publications/index.htm

Also... Learn from the Great Teacher is another GREAT one for young children.

You can call your local Kingdom Hall in the phone book and request a copy and someone will bring you by one. :)

Best Wishes!

I would go to the Christian book store and get a children's bible that has lots of pictures. They have them for all ages groups. Also, you can get some of the more "famous" Bible stories on DVD. Hope that helps.

When I was younger I read "My book of bible stories" It was a mustard colored book with shiny red lettering. It may have been published by watchtower, not sure. It was very informative and fun to read with excellent drawings in them.

So you can't read them the bible for starters because it's too graphic? Hmmm, doesn't that tell you something to begin with?

Leave them alone, let them ask you questions about God. They will not understand no matter what book you read. There salvation lies in God hands, yours lies in your own hands.
