I forgot who said it, but someone made this observation based on the actions of a few of the people you mention:
"Christians preach intolerance when it can stick and brotherhood when it can't."
It would be a good idea if they accepted people are going to believe different things than them. It would also be good if other people would actually ignore the ones who do the intolerance instead of trying to harrass the whole of the religion.

Because, Christianity is a religion. You see, there is a difference between spirituality and religion. One can be either spiritual or religious, but it is a rare occasion to find someone who is both. To become spiritual, means to seek a better understanding of yourself, and whatever Higher Power, if any, you believe in. It also means, you except that other people have the right to believe however they may chose. To be spiritual also means, that you don't have the right to impose your beliefs on anyone else. Christianity requires that you believe an exact way. And it is your duty to try and to convince as many people as possible to believe the same. And for the ones that you can't convert, then you must compel them, even if it means passing morality laws. You see, Christianity, is often a religion of convenience. Christians are Christians, only when it suits their self-serving needs. Spirituality isn't bogged down with all that excess baggage. It let's people be whoever, and whatever they choose to be.

Personally I try not to condemn anyone in person.
I dont hate anyone that much to tell them they are evil.
I will say the word repent and ask people to believe, and if I disagree with someone I will try to explain in a civil way WHY! i dont believe and what I see that doesnt make sense.
the biggest doctrine of disagreement right now is the act of all arab nations calling GOD ALLAH as a DEFAULT name for God even if the default and native tongue of a foreign nationality uses a different name.
the only people that will BURN in HELL are those that will NOT repent. Even most of the people that live will not burn in hell, the lake of fire is reserved for those that do not have the spirit of God.
Criminals that are worse than others are destined to go to a Certain type of Hell. There are more than a several destinations of punishment in the afterlife.
I am reminded that jesus would MEET strangers of all religions and nationalities and would be the first one to greet such strangers. He learned lessons from all people, and rebuked His Own religioius leaders and therefore was rejected by his own kind. I am sort of in the same way of thinking, there is so much error is judgment and so many false traditions in the world, that it really doesnt matter what church you go to, jesus said the Sheaves will be bundled and gathered together and burned in the fire. The sheaves are symbolic of sectarianism and religions.
He also said the Axe is laid at the roots of the tree, and I see so "many" axes in the world that some could even destroy an entire nation at once.! for example Yellowstone park has a Super volcano that can BLOW up at any time.
People likewise that have no religion can be bundled up, lol, and they too can be thrown into the fire just because they are so hard hearted that THEY themselves reject the truth.
So jesus says take out the wood chip in your own eye before you seek to take out the Beam in someone elses life.
Under the threat and knowledge of being condemned a truly holy servant of God will become a freind of God and truly what that freind will say, will be the lords will.

don't accuse. I've seen people of other religions not only say that God isn't real, but actually try to convert me.
Christians mainly stress the "BURN IN HELL" cenario (sorry if I misspelled that) because they feel hearing about condemnation is what will change them. Others try the opposite approach and only preach the benefits of being saved.
And most Christians do not hate religious people. "we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities...". They're taught to hate the spirit or mindset behind religion, not the people.
Also, some may be acting out frustration, as in if you noticed in high schools, you were not allowed to witness (which could be frustrating to a Christian) and in some even wear a statement about Christ on your shirt, etc.
so seriously, calm down.

specific, i've got self belief that it is Christian to criticize different religions, inspite of the reality that i would not say that Christians carry a monopoly on that prepare of theory. whilst i exchange into nonetheless Christian, i exchange into taught that critically comparing one's theory device (and others'), alongside with faith, could help solidify my Christian ideals. i'm now an ex-Christian. Criticizing different ideals/evaluations is an somewhat human trait (Christian and non-Christian). purely determine you may defend your guy or woman place first. I advise, proving somebody else's place to be incorrect is incomprehensible in the experience that your place is likewise provably incorrect, isn't it?

Because they believe that Jesus Christ told them that the only way they could be saved from hell is through him. They interpret this to mean that everyone else in the world who doesn't believe in Jesus Christ is going to hell. Add to this their belief that Jesus wants them to go around and tell people about Jesus(and thus save them from hell), and this is why they tell other people that they are going to hell. In effect, they are saying, "You are going to hell, but here is how you can avoid it."
Of course, the truth is, no one is going to hell because there isn't any such place. What kind of God would allow a pious moral Buddhist to suffer for all eternity just because he lived his life as a Buddhist? It's ridiculous.
This attitude on the part of most fundamentalist Christians is downright offensive, to suggest that a highly moral, even prayerful person of a different religious faith will go to hell.

Hmmm...I am not a most christian, but I think they do that because (like any other religous participant) they want to feel superior about themselves and what they believe because they are so confident that what they believe is right. Arrogance, I like to call it is a sinful act that everyone struggles with, includding christians. Not all christians are perfect. In fact none are. But I can say that very few christians actually have a personal relationship with god, which commends themselves to knowing better the heart of the lord in which they can apply to their actions.
I am not like that. Instead of mocking others' beliefs I like to share mine, although I am still respectful of their opinion whether mine helps or not.

Hello wicked...you have a free will Use it wisely. I do not have any problem with your choice. This is an open discussion column and people have different point of views.
We Christians believe that the Bible is true. The Bible is very clear about this hell issue. You do not have to believe it though, that is fine by me.
I do not see most Christians criticizing people of other religion. I they have made their decision, great. So many people do not make any decisions at all. I did my homework and I follow Jesus.

I think some Christians want to critize other religions. We all make mistakes. You might not hear other religions bagging on people, all they want to is to kill everyone - like Islam. As Christians, we shouldn't go out and tell people that they are burning in hell but to pray for them. I would like to apologize to you for other Christians for them going around and critizing other religions. I will pray for you and other religions. We can't convert other religions, only God can.

You're absolutely wrong! You live in what is primarily a Christian nation if you're an American citizen, or live anywhere else in the geographical reach of Christendom, but if you were to travel anywhere inside of the old Islamic Caliphate and you'll hear not only criticism, but calls for the death of Christians.
Now, I don't know of many Christians calling for people's death.
Now, I don't believe anyone is going to burn in hell because I don't believe in hell. Hell should have been translated as the word grave, and the Bible says over and over again that God will save all of humanity. I do despise Christendom and everything it is, but in the defense of those who tell others they're going to hell; if they genuinely believe that people are going to hell it seems to me that as humane people they would try to save people from that by warning them of it.
