It shows that they are violent in nature. Their Koran is an instruction book on how to commit violence.

Well, if you're talking about the publicized reaction to the Pope's quotes, there are several things to consider about that incident.
Firstly, ten or 15 violent reactions out of 1.2 billion people is miniscule, but the American media thrives on publicizing such things. When hate crimes against Muslims have risen exponentially in the US in the past six years you don't see the Muslim world's media publicizing each of these as examples of the ignorance, violence and animal behavior of Americans, do you? Even though, statistically speaking, they represent a far higher portion of the population committing them!
But as for the quotes themselves, a few things need to be pointed out. The Pope quoted Manuel II, Emporer of Byzantium. This man is notorious for having traveled all over Europe drumming up support against the Muslims. He says that Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) didn't bring anything new except evil things. But this isn't borne out by any of the very observable historical facts.
Muslims ruled Greece for 400 years and Spain for over 700 years (that's three times longer than the US has even been in existance!). Notice that Greece and Spain, like most of the countries in the Middle East such as Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, Iraq, Iran, etc., still have Christian communities that have remained unbroken since their inception. (The ones in the Mid. East have been there since the time of Christ himself!). How is that possible if the Muslims are a bunch of intolerant aggressors?
Now ask yourself where are the Muslim communities of Greece and Spain? They ruled those countries - Spain until 1492! - but hardly a trace of their communities remains except a few archetectural and placename reminders. Why? Because they were exterminated and exiled. So much for the *Western* concepts of human rights and tolerance.
The fact is that Muslims have been so poorly treated for so long that some in our community react violently to it now. These are people who have had it proven to them that they have no access to the processes and "proper channels" that run the world. They have no faith in dialogue or court appeals because the same have failed them at every turn. Colonization, imperialism, unbridled capitalism which enriches the Westerners by the use of their natural resources - all these have run roughshod over these people. It is no wonder that they use visibly violent means to express their outrage when the final straw - the insulting and ignorant misrepresentation of their prophet - has been thrown.
That doesn't make their reactions any more Islamic, though. To react with violence like that is not Islamic. The prophet himself (upon him be peace) did not react thusly to insults he received - ever once in his entire life. He always responded with measured calm and forebearance. He just went about living Islam and that brought most of his enemies full-heartedly into Islam. That is our role model.
We are charged by God and His prophet with living Islam to the fullest and being an example, through speech and dialogue and intellect and kindness, to the rest of the world. "Invite (all) to the Way of thy Lord with wisdom and beautiful preaching; and argue with them in ways that are best and most gracious: for thy Lord knoweth best, who have strayed from His Path, and who receive guidance." (The Qur'an, 16:125) THAT'S how we should show our passion.

People who have low self esteem are the most likely to take offense at what others say. They have no confidence to just say/think "Forget you. I know where I stand!"
They are always ready for a battle and the thought of trying to destroy anyone who disagrees with them.
There are many who call themselves Christians but have no confidence in God 's power in their lives.
