Maybe that is why some call it Bible thumping.

This is to the inane question of plants before the sun.
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
2 Now the earth was [a] formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.

3 And God said, "LET THER BE LIGHT," and there was light. 4 God saw that the light was good, and He separated the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light "day," and the darkness he called "night." And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day.

6 And God said, "Let there be an expanse between the waters to separate water from water." 7 So God made the expanse and separated the water under the expanse from the water above it. And it was so. 8 God called the expanse "sky." And there was evening, and there was morning—the second day.
And so on.

Plants came after the light.

I would have to see what you are reading.

Yes, sometimes they do.

People don't understand when we try to tell them in our own words often, and even more often they do not really read what we write as we intend it to be understood. It's a bunch of misunderstanding, and I find that sad. I guess we have to simply quote scripture as we explain it, but then too they can misunderstand if their heart is not soft enough for the seed to be sown.

There are several passages in the Bible in which the hardness of heart is discussed. Sometimes people can be reached, sometimes they have hardened their hearts so much, they couldn't understand if they tried.

May God guide you & bless your journey.

Let there be light, that was the Spirit of God and the Bible tells us that it is the Spirit that give life. This is why plants were sustained before the sun.

(John 6:63) It is the Spirit that makes alive, the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit and are life.

The problem that some people have with this is that they don't "know" what the light was, they all assume that the onl light has been the sun moon and stars. Last time I checked God was called "The Light of the World" so why couldn't He have just shined His light on the Earth? Makes a lot of sense to me.

It is the Word of God that is powerful and not anything man can say.
