Faith set aside, christians want to look away from allah, buddah, etc.....yet christianity is one of the newest religions there are.
Not only that a lot of them just repeat what is told to them and never really actually studied or went outside christianity.

well, aparently you havn't studied it very much also, because allah is what the Islamic people consider God, and Christians are set apart from them in their belief in Jesus Christ. I am a Christian, and we are sure about Jesus because in the Bible, all written by God, it predicted his first and second coming. You may think there is some competition between the Koran and the Bible, but there is none. I've heard the only way to judge the merit of a religion is by its ability for prophecy, in which the Koran doesn't have squat on the Bible. Buddahists are more different than these, in which their Buddah's are people who have become fully awakened. Some buddahists even consider Jesus Christ a Buddah, as well as many other people who "have it figured out". That's my basic view on some of these things, but not all christians are completely oblivious to other religions and other parts of the world. That's why your horrendous stereotypes of us are as stuck up people who are above the world, stuck in the only know ways. That's completely false, and i'm doing what i can to change that idea. Actually study these religions and talk to experts of each one, and hopefully you can really find what you are looking for

How can you separate faith from your faith?
I will not speak for others, but what you've stated about alot of "them" repeating what they've been told is true for most faiths including atheism. There are very few people who really know why they believe what they say they believe. Most of us just follow tradition without really knowing why.
In fact many of the so-called holidays we celebrate have roots in pagan celebrations, including Christmas and Easter.
I don't mind celebrating those holidays as long as we're honest about where they came from and what we now celebrate.
I have come full circle in my belief in Christ as Lord and Savior.
I initially became a Christian at the age of 22. Over the past 25 years I have studied other religions including; Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam, Mesoamerican shamanism, and any number of New Age religions. At one point I even walked away from all religion and faiths because I couldn't believe a real God would allow all the suffering that occurs in the world (this occurred after my mom died).
Finally after hitting the lowest point in my life - ironic that it was during my "atheist" period - I came to believe - there's that faith word again - that there is only One Way that makes the most sense....The One Way that requires you to believe in Christ.
He was either a liar, a lunatic or Lord and when you weigh all the evidence without prejudice - Lord makes the most sense.
Besides, even if you don't believe, listen to what He taught; forgiveness to the Nth degree & love to the Nth degree.
In all my studies I have yet to find the part where He said to kill the infidels who don't believe, or sacrifice your children and kill all your enemies.
No one will ever be able to convince you that God exists or that Jesus is Lord, except Him. No one will ever be able to prove to you that there's a heaven or a hell, until you're there.
So, choose wisely.

Christianity is based on Judiasm, which brings it back about 3500 years. Jesus was born as a Jew, and everything he taught was to the Jewish people. It wasn't until after He died and then came back to life that the message started going to other countries.

As for the main question, I can only answer for myself. God is real, Jesus is God, my life was changed, I no longer am entrapped to sin, and I no longer love or enjoy sin. Once I realized that I don't have the power to change my own life, and that I am not (or ever will be) a good person, Jesus changed me from the inside out. Now I understand more of the bible than I've ever seen before. I love God and others more than I've ever loved before. I have been transformed, and I do not have to "work" my way to heaven like all other religions teach. I do good works because I love others, not because I must.

Even though I know the basic teachings of many other "religions", I have no reason to embrace them. Jesus said that He is the way, the truth, the life, and No one can come to the father except by him. So instead of reading up on allah or buddah or other religions, I feel the urge to speak to them and share with them Christ, who is the savior of All men. You included.

When I try and convince myself there is no god, I'm convicted, I feel guilty... And if I don't believe in God and then I die, and find out I'm wrong...it would be a bad thing. But if you read the bible, and try and correlate it with the world, it makes sense. And even if God were not real, it's still good to live a good life. But if I take the chance and believe that God is real, and I'm right, then I will be rewarded in the end. And though I cannot say without a doubt that I will go to heaven, at least his teachings have inspired me, and made me a better person. So why not believe it. I have studied other religions...to an extent, and none make so much sense to me.

This probably goes only for me.People are sure of napoleon, caeser and hitler,All historical people.

Apart from christian references we know Jesus of Nazereth was a real historical person,Jesus was a real person.

So we know Jesus was a real person,How are we sure he is God the Son?that is a tougher question.

Well for one there were prophecies, now is you were a gambling man and you went through the odds this this explanation would go a long way.

Personaly the testomony of the saints is valid.
Why did the martyrs die?would a person die for a joke? These saints had nothing to gain.

If i knew somebody was serious and that they said they would feed me to wild animals unless i renounced Jesus i would on the spot claim no knowledge of any messiah.
Being a christian was punishable by death,Yet these people persisted.
Why?for what?

Remember a lot of the martyrs knew Jesus, the Son of God when he was on this earth performing these great deeds for everybody to see,
They likewise were killed, they were convinced that Jesus was God the Son.To them this was no joke.

Why should somebody die for no gain?It was no conspiracy to fool people.

Supposing you believe everything i've said, what then did Jesus tell us?He spoke of his Father in heaven. The creator of all things.

Now as regards other faiths,i dont believe in this freedom of choise crap,
You stick with what you think is right,
When someone asks you your religion they arent asking you about a choice youve made they are asking you what you think is right.

When you have something you know to be right everything else that comes along is nonsence.

JESUS IS RIGHT.
mohammad is nonsense,
budda is nonsense,shamanism is nonsense.
There is one God,the answers there, there is no blind leap.

Trust me,christianitys right and there is no reason to bother your hole with all that other crap.

Well, (aside from faith), here's why i believe in God:
All people have some sort of conscience written on their hearts. Sure Muslims have a different sort of idea of right and wrong, but they still have one! It had to come from somewhere!
Here's another one: when you look at a painting, you assume there must be some sort of painter who made it, right? Same with the world around us! There has to be someone who made it! It obviously is too big to be made by human hands. It was God!
And lastly--what about the idea of infinity? No person is infinite--so where could the idea have come from? It must have been instilled in us from someone who was infinite--God!
Also, I've had many personal experiences of God answering my prayers. Even when I was a little girl, I was praying to God that I could see one of my friends from childhood again--I hadn't seen him in years! I was in the car, on the way to the dentist. Guess who we ran into when we got there? My friend who I had just been praying about. I was thrilled! That is not just a coincidence! And that's just one example.
Christianity may be new because Jesus died for us only about 2007 years ago--but God has always been there. The same God has always existed, and even from long ago, in the Old Testament times, He had followers, like Abraham, Moses, Noah, and many others.
I'm sure because I have no reason to doubt.

Miranda,

You know not of what you speak.

When you have the truth, you don't "need" too look anywhere else.

John 14:6 Jesus answered, I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.

Christianity started when Jesus Christ came to earth and began his ministry. However, we were not called Christians until after Jesus' death. Our (Christian) roots are in Judaism...and that goes back to creation.

The truth will set you free. Have you ever heard that quote? It's from the Holy Bible. John 8:32 And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

What path have you chosen? Be very careful...it is a matter of life and death.

we can tell you how He changed our lives, not because of our efforts to be "good" but because of His love & grace through the Holy Spirit. Would you have everyone believe that the followers of allah, buddha, whoever do so out of intellect--that they don't just repeat what is told to them? It doesn't matter how old religion is--Christianity isn't really a religion BTW, in that it isn't just a set of beliefs, it's something you are: a new creation. The most important thing is that Jesus not only died for our sins, He was ressurected & is seated @ the right hand of the Father where He ever lives to make intercession for us. I do not intend to be disrespectful of anyone's belief, but buddha is dead, mohammad is dead & allah cannot do for his followers what God has done for us. Peace!

What you don't have is the Holy Spirit living inside you. This is our assurance that we are following the true God. Read the Holy Bible and read what Jesus Christ has to say about himself and the working of the Holy Spirit.

Jesus said this in the book of John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments. And I will pray the Father; and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever. 17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

Jesus said this in John 14:6 "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes unto the Father, but by me".

It is the Holy Spirit living inside every true born again Christian that makes us have no doubts whatsoever that we have found the truth. If we were wrong, then Satan wouldn't waste his time trying to get us to live a life of sin.

My hope is that you will see the truth Jesus Christ said about himself, It is true. We love the Muslims and want to share what we have found in the living Son of God Jesus Christ.

P.S. I have studied other religions, even yours.

First of all,it's not just Christians. Many people are too closed minded to acknowledge more than one God/way of honoring. My God is big enough to be worshiped by anyone, anyway they want to.Even if I disagree with them,it's still the same God.
If I were to tell you that my way to worship God is the only way, would you believe me. Or would you say,I worship the God of my Father & his Farther before him! My God is the true God
Now when you get a bunch of people all believing the exact same way meeting another bunch of people that have their own way of believing the exact same way, who's right ?
For centuries religeon has been used to control the masses.
I believe strongly in a God of my own understanding, and just as strongly, I believe you have that right too.
