to me,it is a person who has been born again, in Christ.
asking for forgiveness of my sins and acknowledging the fact that Jesus came and died for my sins and rose again. And asking Jesus into my heart. It does not mean we are perfect, it does mean we are forgiven...

The word Christian first appeared as an insult in Antioch around the 1st Century. It was an insulting nickname for the followers of Christ because these followers were always talking about having christ in.
You see, when Jesus Christ ascended he made it available to have a direct spiritual connection with God. The connection that Adam lost.
This connection is via the spirit of Christ that dwells in anyone who is born again of God.
These born again believers are then Christians or Christ-ins.

This term is used only three times in the Bible, and means Christ-like and followers of Christ (Ac. 11:26; 26:28; 1 Pe. 4:16).
Scholars agree that the name "Christian" was given to the followers of Christ. What about followers of Mary? They are called "Catholics".
Catholics are taught to pray a prayer to Mary, called the "Hail Mary". Technically, it is impossible for Catholics to worship Mary because worship has been defined as applying only to "God".
Catholic use beads and pray the Rosary is an open and graphic worship of Mary plain and simple.

One born again by the power of the Spirit of Christ. A new creation old things have passed away and all things have become new. One who was dead and now is alive. One transferred from darkness to light. A slave of sin to a slave of righteousness. No mere human work of "accepting Jesus" or anything like that. Only a miracle or grace.

The term Christian means "belonging to Christ" and is derived from the Greek noun Χριστός Khristós which means "anointed one," which is itself a translation of the Hebrew word Moshiach (Hebrew: משיח, also written "Messiah"), (and in Arabic it is pronounced Maseeh مسيح). ...

By definition, a follower of the ways and teachings of Jesus Christ. Irony is, Jesus was a Jew, so surely his followers should be Jews too. Figure that one out!
