I have tried to listen to what God has to say, but when I do hear him, it is simple messages in my heart, nothing specific to the questions I have. Is the Voice of God just my conscience and it has been with me my whole life without knowing it?

Well, if you are a believer, the Holy spirit should be what controls your conscience. THe Holy Spirit is always with you. God maybe just wants you to hear those little messages so that you stay on the right path. Listen to them. I feel that they are straight from god.
Also, I don't know what your questions are, but I promise that God listens to every one of them. He knows you by name and loves you very much. You can bet that He is working in your life right now and He has a plan for you. He will never leave you, get bored with you, or forget about you!!! He loves more than ever!!! yes it may be a inner voice or some times when u pray for answers if u be still the answer may just develop in front of your very eyes and when it happens u will be aware that this is what i was waiting for the key is simple but not what i often do I think this teaches us Patience because we will only hear him when we r still and attentive

Just be patient and be still. Keep on listening.
And i am not referring to the voice in your head, rather to the voice behind all the things you see in your life, the deeper meaning behind everything superficial.
You will hear the voice of God. And this will reflect more and more within yourself.

It's your conscience.
From what I heard, only Jesus and someone else that's "holy" as him has heard it. That was a big deal back then or even now, when Jesus said God has spoken to him.
Now a days, I hear so many people saying that they heard God and they said this. I know that might get people's attention and I know how badly they want their voices to be heard by others but that's absurd.

There is only one way to hear the voice of God and that is to study His Word. 2 Timothy 2: 15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. He is not speaking to anyone outside of His written Word. His direct revelation is complete not can be added or taken away. Colossians 1: 25 Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God; Revelation 22: 18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: Revelation 22: 19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

Sometimes he does that. Sometimes he talks to u and u don't know it. Sometimes the answer is right in front of u and u don't know it. Sometimes u have to dig deep to find the answer. maybe itz that u hear him talking to u, but u don't wanna listen. Sometimes we have to wait till later to get the answers we want. All the aswers are in the Bible

yes that is God speaking to you but what can you do to hear an audible vocie - nothing- either He will speak to you or not there is nothing you can do to make Him speak
reason you are not getting answers to specific questions could be lots of things - maybe He is giving you answers to things that He wants you to know and not what you think you need to know - work on what you are hearing and the answers you are looking for will come in His time not your time

Same reason when you look at the grass, after a while of seeing it, you actually believe it has grown. We think we are hearing his voice because we want to believe we are. Hopefully that will answer your question.
