Please respond to these:
1) The Bible wasn't written in English. References to homosexuality can likely be attributed to the nature of the society in which they were written. In the case of the OT, the Egyptian worship of gods through sodomy and in the case of the NT, the dehumanization of boys for sexual gratification.
2) Is it worth getting all worked up and kicking people out of church positions because they live and love in a lifestyle that is different from ours? I think that's what many churches did in the 40's with interracial relationships among church members. It didn't work out well for them.
3) Should we be more concerned with homosexuals among us living "sinfully" or those among us who haven't found the perfect peace and hope that is God?
4) Did Jesus ever discuss homosexuality? Nope. Did Paul? Yes. But wait... Paul never met Jesus. He only saw Him in a vision, so is it really fair to associate Paul's writings with Christ's beliefs and practices? Englighten me, O Gentiles!

We often hear how a child should get a blood transfusion, even over any objections of the parents. Should this also apply to small girls, getting the vacine, since most churches don't think they can prevent them from becoming sexual active as teens or single adults?

CNN had a story yesterday about the different health care available to Sunni and Sh'ia in Iraq. If a person were to show up at a hospital, how would they know to which sect the person belongs? Do they dress differently? Speak w/ different accents? etc.

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth. Give us day by day our daily bread. And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil. Luke 11:2-4 KJV HOLY BIBLE

i just don't know how christians interpret "judge not lest ye be judged". if judgment can be defined as determining what is good, bad, beautiful, or ugly in another person's life, then how do christians that judge others justify doing precisely that?

1. Do you believe these bible verses are true? YES or NO

Matthew 17:20:
"For truly, I say to you, if you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move; and nothing will be impossible to you."

Mark 11:24:
"Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours."

James 5:15:
"And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well;"
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you answered "YES":

2. Why don't amputees re-grow limbs when they pray according to this scripture?

3. If you really think these scriptures are true, then why aren't you at a childrens cancer hospital right now praying for suffering babies to be healed?

4. Isn't it pretty selfish of you to allow children to suffer when you possess the power of prayer that could heal them and alleviate their suffering?

Is it because Jesus said "Blessed are the meek"? Is it because Jesus was crucified by the Romans rather leading an army against the Romans and kicking their butts? Or, are some faithful, devout Christian men not wimps at all? (P.S. I am not trying to offend anyone. Rather, I really want to understand whether a man can be masculine and macho and also a faithful, devout, serious Christian--and if this is possible, how can is done in a world that measures men by how tough they are, how rich they are, how successful they are, how beautiful their wife or girlfriend is, etc.)

Sometimes I feel as though my humbleness and kindness can get taken advantage of. I feel as though I can compromise my wants and needs to help others as much as I can (at school, at home..etc.) but sometimes it feels as though they can't do that in return and just take me for granted as though it is my responsibility to always help everyone else out.

In many churches especially by today's standards, people praise pasotors and ministers as if they were some type of devine essence. It appears that both pastors and congregations have become disillusioned with what role they should play. This does not mean that people shouldn't give credit when it is do. However, there is a great misconception about who get's the priase. What do you think?

I am so sick and tired of hearing people downing christianity, yet our country was built on christianity and since the democrats have had their way our country has gone down hill, taking prayer out of school? If we had it in schools we might not have so many people in prison, who by the way are now praying to God. Or how about so many people downing our military men!!! If it wasn't for war..you know the ones you are soo against, you wouldn't have the freedom of speach you use to run your mouths about things you know nothing about. So if you don't like this category, than stay out of it...oh I'm sorry, did I infringe on your rights..the ones we faught for and won through war!? Why do you think our nation has always been so prosperous? Because until not too long ago, our presidents were christians! They say not to mix politics with religion, but they actually should go hand in hand, if we knew what was good for ourselves.

I understand the view of defiling the temple. This basically means drinking alcohol or smoking tobacco.

Alcoholism is sinful to a very high extent. Being a full time smoking is unheathful as well.

What about have a glass of wine and a cigar? Is this not moderation?
In the Bible it says to do the right things in moderation.

I walked into a Baptists church and saw many overweight people. Is someone telling them to be overweight? These people are not doing what they could for their bodies. So, why are they not considered defiling the temple and get thrown out of the church.

I knew one Baptist church that had a youth leader that went out of his wife. He wasn't kicked out because he didn't commit the "crime" of smoking or drinking.

In the Bible, it says to be faithful with the wife. Where is the Bible does it say you can't smoke?? The actual word "smoke". You won't be able to prove it.

Do what you will, if it does not harm others.

I think it covers everything and is great to base your life around.

What do you think of living by this rule. Does it for you sum up everything?

What would Christians think if the Wicca Rede was posted in school? Is there really a difference? They both encourage good behavior. "In it harm none, do what ye will."

I personally believe God (any of them) does not belong in public school.
