BLESSING is when a divinity empowers you with the energy to change your life for the better...
Blessing are not always being bestowed with Material wealth or Getting a job or getting a lover ( although these are all parts of it ) but a true divinity will bless his/her devotee with the best situations to improve their lives, make them better people and nurture them to have purer hearts.
All that is pleasant is NOT always a blessing, like if a person gets 1 million dollars and changes into a totally horrific person then the "Pleasantness" has become an obstacle to his spiritual evolution and a bane to the people around him.
Or if a person encounters a calamity, but manages to transcend its effects, making him stronger, more understanding and wise, allowing him to help others who encounter the same situations in the future... then that which seems harsh in the beginning has become a blessing coz, that energy or situation has transformed their lives and the lives of those around them.
Blessings MAY NOT always be pleasant, and Pleasant situations may not always be a blessings. I believe we may not ALWAYS be blessed with we want, but ALWAYS be blessed with what we need.....

Well, I don't know about praying to Goddesses, Allah, Divine, or Buddha because they are not God. Blessing in the Bible is finding favor with God, by living in his will for your life and not that of your own. Blessing does not necessarily mean that God is going to give you want you want. That is not promised. What is promised is that God will provide you with what you need. That is a blessing in itself. Special Blessings are given to those that seek God first in all situations. Jesus said, "Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness and all of this will be given to you as well." There is a condition that one must follow in order to recieve and that is to seek his kingdom first. We must seek God first. Not Buddha. Not Divine. Not Allah. Not Goddesses. We are to seek the one and only God, creator of the Heavens and the Earth.

A blessing is when you are calling upon the power of God to bring good things to someone. As long as you live your life accordingly and do what God leads you to do, those blessings will come true.
For instance, in the Bible, Jacob tricked his father into giving him Esau's blessing which entitled him to being ruler over his brethren. That blessing is generally perserved for the firstborn, unless the younger is found mightier or more righteous in the eyes of the Lord.
Most of the blessings in the Bible were directed toward the future where their "seed shall be as the stars in the sky".
You can also bless people in many other ways. You can bless an ill person to get better. In my church we have baby blessings, where the priesthood leaders (they're the ones who give the blessings) bless the babies to lead fruitful lives and to follow and obey their parents and to live righteously in the eyes of God. They're also blessed to go on missions when they are of age.
Also, our church has a special blessing which is called the Patriarchal Blessing. It is where we go see the Patriarch who prays intently to God and basically lets God do the talking. God tells him what to say when he blesses us. This blessing basically lays out our lives and the many blessings which are to come to us so long as we live our lives accordingly. I mean, we still have a choice. For instance, if we're blessed to have many children, we can decide we don't want children and then get it fixed to where we don't. Or if we're blessed to go on a full time mission, we can simply choose not to go.
Blessings can be given for practically everything. So whenever you hear someone say, "please bless me" it just depends on the need of that person and what blessings they desire. Generally when they say it, though, it is a blessing of health or of overcoming obstacles in their lives.
I hope this helped.
God bless you! (In every way) :)

All good things come from God. We are here by his grace and goodness , all is created by God. Should we wake up or have food, or a place to be warm or cool medicines etc. These are blessings
