I am so sick and tired of hearing people downing christianity, yet our country was built on christianity and since the democrats have had their way our country has gone down hill, taking prayer out of school? If we had it in schools we might not have so many people in prison, who by the way are now praying to God. Or how about so many people downing our military men!!! If it wasn't for war..you know the ones you are soo against, you wouldn't have the freedom of speach you use to run your mouths about things you know nothing about. So if you don't like this category, than stay out of it...oh I'm sorry, did I infringe on your rights..the ones we faught for and won through war!? Why do you think our nation has always been so prosperous? Because until not too long ago, our presidents were christians! They say not to mix politics with religion, but they actually should go hand in hand, if we knew what was good for ourselves.

Answer: To discuss Religion and Spirituality. Which means *all* religions and *all* aspects of spirtuality (including debates about its worthiness).

As for the rest....

--"our country was built on Christianity...." [folks have more than covered that little faux pas of yours]
--"since the democrats have had their way our country has gone down hill, taking prayer out of school?" Er... the new democratic Congress only convened this week! For the previous twelve years, the Republicans have ruled Congress. As for prayer in school? Pray away--just don't make other people listen to it.

--"If we had it in schools we might not have so many people in prison...." Well, we *do* have more people in prison than any other major country. Most experts blame the War on Drugs. Also, did you know 60% of prisoners are functionally illiterate? If only we were putting more money into education than war.

--"Or how about so many people downing our military men!!!" Just because people are against the War doesn't mean they're against the troops. In fact, most of us love and respect our troops. We love and respect them too much to use them as pawns in unneccessary wars.

--"If it wasn't for war..you know the ones you are soo against, you wouldn't have the freedom of speach you use to run your mouths about things you know nothing about." Um... you mean things we know nothing about like the history of American warfare? (Ben Franklin and Thomas Jefferson, who were *seriously* not Christian, had a whole lot to do with that "freedom of speech" business)

--"Why do you think our nation has always been so prosperous? Because until not too long ago, our presidents were christians!" Ah, so you admit that Bush is only *pretending* to be Christian! And do you honestly think that Jesus, the one who said it's harder for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than a rich man to get into heaven, has been rewarding America's Christianity with prosperity?

So much scattered vitriol. So little time.

*gasp* Could it possibly be because this is the Religion and Spirituality section, not the Christian section?

Oh yes and America was not built on any religion let alone Christianity. In fact many of the founding fathers did not like Christianity and said so in their written documents, go check it out. Many were Deists, not Christian Monotheists like yourself.

Democrats have not taken prayer out of schools. If you honestly believe that, I'll have to wonder what news source you are using!

Most people in prison are Christians, they pray, why are they in jail? I thought Christians were supposed to be good and holy people, not criminals? Hmm...

What may I ask does the war in the Middle East have to do with anything on this topic?

There were a few rather famous presidents who were NOT Christian: Lincoln, Jefferson, Adams, etc.. Oh but you didn't know that.

I couldn't agree with you more.
Even though I am homeschooled and have been for 10 years (since kindergarten) I think it is awful for prayer to be taken out of school.
People don't realize that God can change your life.
When you look around you and you see all of the trees, grass, animal's, kids, how could you not believe in God? There is so much proof just by looking into a childs eyes, that was perfectly made without any flaws, by God.

People who question god? Watch the Passion Of Christ. It will change your mind.

God Bless You :)

Wow, look who's on their high horse!

First of all, this isn't a Christians-only catagory. Sorry. Secondly, our country WASN'T founded on Christianity. It was founded by democratic Freemasons. Every one of our forefathers was a Freemason. The whole reason they came over to America was to get out from under the Christian rule of Europe. And they specifically separeted church and state to keep would-be dictators, like Saddam and Hitler, out of office. And it seems to me like you want this country run under the dictatorship of a fundie Christian.

Did you ever stop to think that the reason people down Christians is because they act exactly how you're acting? Learn some tolerance and turn the other cheek like Jesus would have done. If you're a Christian, freakin' act like one!

And to your dismay, a lot of prisoners are turning to other faiths like Taoism, Paganism, Islam, etc.

I dislike Christianity, but I come here. I am also religious, but not a Christian.

Also, pleas read up on The Founders. They were Free Masons [and by a strict look at Christianity [very strict, like a fundie] they couldn't be.]

Christians have a long history of perpetuating war, mostly for money. We won our right for Free Speech in one war, against a Christian nation. The WW's were more to help our allies.

I don't know how you people can believe faith belongs in office. That's were people go.

Also, sure, you can pray in schools. However, you have to let every faith do theirs too. I, for example, do a mass dedicated to my real self, which involves the giving of blood to the spirit world [I'll be simple], and drinking of a wine [just a glass]. I do this in a circle, so need space, and incenses, and oils.

Alright, a couple things:

1) This is not the "Christianity" section, it's the "Religion and Spirituality" section. And even if it WAS the Christianity section, criticism of Christianity would still be allowed here.
2) This country was NOT founded on Christianity -- in fact the vast majority of the founding fathers were Deist, not Christian (look it up).
3) What does freedom of speech on an Internet forum have to do with this war we're fighting now? There are plenty of totally legitimate criticisms of this war -- where are the weapons of mass destruction, for example?

If non-Christians' opinions bother you that much, why not go to one of the countless Christian-only message boards or forums out there?

This category is called religion and spirituality not Christianity and Christianity.

The wars who fought and won? Atheists and people from other religions have fought throughout America's history in her wars. A good chunk of our founding fathers were Deists... You should read some of the stuff they wrote.

Our nation has been prosperous through hard work, ingenuity, and, well, off the backs of slave labor and Native American lands in early days.

We've grown a lot through our history. Maybe some day we will become the land of the free for all of it's citizens.

this site and section is not solely for Christians genius. If you want to talk to ONLY Christians, then go to a Christian forum.

The rest of you rant is COMPLETELY ridiculous.
-this country was NOT founded as a Christian nation
-since when did DEMOCRATS eliminate prayer in schools?
Our CONSTITUTION separates church and state
-To say that our nation has gone down hill because we used to have Christian presidents is completely stupid. Bush is a Christian and claims to read the Bible EVERY MORNING.

...Where on Earth did you come up with this stuff? What are you, 7 years old?

-Mixing politics and religion is NOT a good idea, just ask the Muslim world. If you add up the gross national product (income) of all 23 Islamic based states (countries), put TOGETHER they are less than the gross national product of Spain. When you organize a country based on religion, you end up with a country full of people that spend all of their time praying and doing nothing to develop the economy. This is why Islamic based states are so poor and their standard of living is so much lower than that of the U.S.

Because this is NOT the "Christianity" category, it's the "Religion & Sprituality" category.

Because hatefilled so called "Christians" feel it's necessary to go to other categories to bash, hate, spread viscious lies and threaten other good folk!
