We just had this discussion at bible study the other night. If we ever clone a human being, they will have a soul but not a spirit. Animals have a soul but not a spirit. They are living souls. But are not made in the image of God. God is triune and so are we. We have a body, soul, spirit. But if we create another human being from something else that already exists, DNA etc....then that clone will not have a spirit. It wasn't God who brought that person into existence the second time. Only the first time when they were born through natural conception. These clones would be a great alternative in war. They would be good soldiers possibly. Also, here's an interesting fact, if we take the DNA of say, myself and clone me, then even though that clone might start out as a baby, it's DNA is still as old as me, 40. The DNA can't be made brand new, it remains the same age as what my genes and DNA are even though it looks like a newborn.

What the heck do you think identical twins are that are born?! They are natural 'clones' of each other that just happened. They are two different people, and as they can move and speak seperate of each other, than as I figure it; each body has it's own soul.

I believe that a soul chooses the body it enters. So by whatever means that a body is made, if it lives; it's only because a soul has chosen to occupy it. By whatever means.

I don't condone cloning. I'm just spouting off my theory since that is the question that was asked.

When I bang my head against a wall so hard I go into a permanent coma out of frustration at the stupidity and ignorance of people on Y!A, would you be kind enough to keep my life support machine from being unplugged?

Identical twins are clones produced by accidents of nature. They appear to have souls...

With 7 billion people on the planet I don't think there is any soul in flesh.

Remember when they said that test-tube babies wouldn't have a soul? As there really is no such thing anyway, the answer is ultimately NO.
