I was baptized and raised as a Roman Catholic. After I turned 30 I started studying and eventually converted to Buddhism, I found a peculiar trend during my studies, I found that a large amount of the people I talked to that had "converted" to Buddhism were previously Roman Catholic. I am curious as to why this trend exists? Why are so many converts Catholic? I converted because I did not believe what I was taught or that there is a "creator" God.I never felt comfortable with Catholicism. I would like to know other peoples reasons. (I am not trying to bash Catholicism, my Mom is still devout Catholic) Just curious.

after my husband died.... I don't know why but everyday I have been having dreams of him... Its not good dreams though. He is being mean to me in my dreams... Giving me attitudes, everytime I try to get closet o him he brushes me off and just looks like he hates me. When he was alive , we was very happy and he always wanted to be close to me. We were bestfriends and loved each other very much.... I miss him so much... He would never treat me so awful... When I go to sleep I want to have good dreams of us together... but instead i get bad dreams... What is this??? I know that I can't be with him phyically anymore. So when I sleep i want to have good memories of us in my sleep/dream... somebody tell me why... am i having dreams of my husband being mean to me.

I'm not religious, but i have a great deal of respect for most christian churches.
The other day i stumbled upon a Bible and decided to read it and found out that in the Genesis people lived like 900 years.
Why is this? What are they trying to say? how do you interpret that?..or if it's not a metaphore of some kind, why would they tell that?

Sceptics feel free to answer...try to keep it respectfull tho...

something that I created it by my hands and I cry on it to help me " "like the statue"

when I became an angry, I destroy it

and I cry again, how can I destroy my idol????????

and I stop for a minute and try to understand. If it is really an idol, why didn't protect its self or at least runaway from me??

what they are doing" (i dont know the exact quotation)...If he was asking for forgiveness to people who didnt have to believe in him but who could see him and even touch him...
How come that many christians in here think they have the right to "decide" who will go to heaven and who will not...
If jesus forgave even those who being closed to him decided not only not to believe in him but even torture him, who are you to judge any other?
if you base your reasons on the bible, i think the word of jesus himself may come first to any other.

aka Satan and that they'll have a big battle at the end to see who will be the God, doesn't it mean that you are polytheism?

I learned something like atheists can be spiritual (which I am), Christians could believe in evolution, and I learned more about religious thoughts and documents provided by answerers (which helped me at history)

It doesn't have to be your religion....would be good if you chose a different one other than your own...... just one you think would most benefit the world.

I'd have to say Buddhism.

God loving people, is it possible for you to be open minded on this question... and not just say your own?

I just don't get it, psychics ask for DOB and people who claim to be prophete of God ask for DOB. Does God need your DOB to tell your past/present/future or that person is a false prophet?
What's your opinion?

About 3 out of every 20 Christians that I come upon, feel that they must change my religion, to "save" me. I continue to tell them I don't want to be saved in such a manner, because I believe that God is a hope too good to be true. They continue to persist and ask me stupid questions which I throw aside, but the won't give up. Can anyone tell me why they care?

"Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able?
Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing?
Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing?
Then whence commeth evil?
Is he neither able nor willing?
Then why call him god?"
