Me and my roomate was debating if Jewish is a religion or race. What is your opinion?

There are no races in the human species. They are all the fabrication of bigots. So Jewish is a religion.

Judaism isn't a religion. The tribes were under the Revelation of Moses. That was their religion.
Most Jews are European in origin and from the Khazzars who converted to Judaism. From this group comes the Ashkenazi. So they can't be a race and they sure aren't semites. The people who live in the area around Palestine from antiquity are semites however. If you are an antisemite you are against the Palestinians and others who are semites who may also be Jews whose origin is the middle east.

I hate it when people misuse the word "race". There are only around 4 races in the world. What you are trying to say is, if Jewish is an ethnicity. And the answer is yes. Some people consider it an ethnicity.

If you are speaking of the Holy Scriptures when you say Jew or Jewish;they are the people of God (although the world is very much mistaken if it thinks that it knows who those people are in truth). The Jews Religion is a religion. If you are speaking of something of man or the world,one might consider it to be any number of things.

Being Jewish is both a religion and a race.
All ethnic Jews are Jewish.
All Jewish followers (religion) are not ethnic Jews.
Not all ethnic Jews are Jewish followers (religion.)

Judism is not only a race, a religion, it's a way of life. You're either a Jew or a Gentile. Jews are known for not eating pork and worshiping on Saturday. Since I don't eat unkosher and stuff, that is my way of life.

The Jew is not a race nor a religion. There were 12 tribes of Israel. Judah was one of the tribes, so if you were in the tribe of Judah you was considered a Jew. The tribe of Levi levite so one and so forth. People just don't read thats all.

It is actually both.
Judaisim is a religion, following Jehovah God of the Old Testament (Torah).
There is also such a thing as a national Jew, descended from Abraham, and a citizen of Israel.
