also, for you what does it mean to avoid wordly distraction and inappropriate words?

this was given as a homework yesterday but my computer at home is broken, i have all class today and it's only lunch break, so please help me out. thanks.

Taoism was basically a school of philosophy. Reacting to the injustices, suffering, devastation, and futility that resulted from the harsh rule of the feudal system of the time, Taoists believed that the way to find peace and harmony was to go back to the tradition of the ancients before there were kings and ministers who dominated the common people. Their ideal was to live the tranquil, rural life, in union with nature.

To avoid worldly distraction would be to keep on resisting such spiritually detrimental things as materialism, unwholesome entertainment, an unforgiving spirit, or indifference toward needy ones.

Lying and foul speech are commonplace, but the ability to speak is one unique trait that separates us from the animals. Inappropriate words are destructive and Insults, sarcasm, mockery, and harsh criticism can hurt deeply.

To be in harmony with nature is to behave as nature does. Lao Tzu uses nature throughout the Tao Te Ching as an example of how men should act and how people should be.

Between Heaven and Earth there seems to be a bellows:
It is empty, and yet it is inexhaustible;

As you can see Lao Tzu looks at the nature of all things in the world and sees why they are as they are. Why is a bowl so good at holding things? Because it is empty. Therefore, if you want to be good at holding things you must empty yourself. It is very simple...
