Is it because Jesus said "Blessed are the meek"? Is it because Jesus was crucified by the Romans rather leading an army against the Romans and kicking their butts? Or, are some faithful, devout Christian men not wimps at all? (P.S. I am not trying to offend anyone. Rather, I really want to understand whether a man can be masculine and macho and also a faithful, devout, serious Christian--and if this is possible, how can is done in a world that measures men by how tough they are, how rich they are, how successful they are, how beautiful their wife or girlfriend is, etc.)

I don't believe that Christian men or women are "wimps". You may believe so. Where I come from Christians are looked up to by many of our townspeople. They are the ones who visit the sick, care for the elderly, and are asked to assist when you need a friend at 2am. They are ReAl MeN and WoMeN! GOD's CHILDREN are CHRISTIANS. They are offered an opportunity to a space in heaven after the judgment. I realize that they are in many ways made fun of and mocked but they realize that this is a small price to pay for our freedom from your king, satan. He controls your life and the lives of all non-Christians. GOD wants you to change your ways. HE wants you to have an opportunity to be in heaven also.

To become a real Christian, we are told that we must HEAR the WORD in John 6:45, Jesus said, “It is written in the prophets, And they shall all be taught by God. Therefore everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to Me.” We are also told so in Romans 10:17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. We are told the we must BELIEVE in Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. We are also told so in Mark 16:16, Jesus said “He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.” and in John 5:24 "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life. We are told that we must REPENT (or turn from sin) in Luke 13:3 I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish. Also in Acts 17:30 Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent. We are told to CONFESS CHRIST in Romans 10:9-10 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. We are also told in 1 Timothy 6:12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. We are to be BAPTIZED according to Acts 2:38 Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” and Mark 16:16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. We are to CONTINUE to be FAITHFUL UNTIL DEATH according to Revelation 2:10c Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life. We also know that Paul wrote in Romans 14:12 each of us shall give account of himself to God. It is important that we not ignore what is written, change what is written, or add to what is written in the New Testament which is our Christian Guide. Have a great week.

Being counter cultural for Christ is the most heroic thing any man can do, because it goes against our human nature..

This doesn't mean we don't stand up for our beliefs and principles. It means we live by them ... no matter how difficult it may be.

Martin Luther King Jr. was a great example of this, and it worked, even though it eventually cost him his life.

He was certainly no wimp.

And your question about the Romans misses the whole point.

The Romans weren't the enemy Jesus came to destroy.

Satan was.

Not only did Jesus destroy Satan's power, he also used the Romans to do it, and later, he used the Romans again, to destroy the unfaithful Jews, and to spread Christianity throughout the world.

The Roman empire has been gone for many centuries, but the Roman Catholic Church remains, the pillar and ground of God's truth.

There's lots more to God's ways than mere mortals might suspect.

Jesus wasn't kidding when he promised that the meek would one day inherit the earth. By his saving death, he's already rescued them and it from the dominion of evil.

When he comes back again, he'll keep every promise he ever made, to those who are faithful enough to truly believe in him.

Christian Men are Not wimps. they are strong men. I would love to find a Christian man and settle down. today to much is put on how men should act. I really don't like a man who is phoney. Just let men be who they are. with out worrying about how people see them.

My Dad was a christian in name only. I could nout stand to be around him. so to answer your question. NO Christian men are NOT wimps. they are strong leaders which we ALL need very bad in this day.

Wow you really dont get it do you? Being masculine has nothing to do with how stong you are or can kick someones butt. Masculine is being a devout Christian with a close relationship with the Lord. Not caring what others think and only caring what God thinks. Thats the real test of being a Man. Compared to God all who claim to be Macho or whatever you want to call it are actually very feminine compared to Him. It says so in the scriptures. Just let me add something here not really to this question but really think about it. Youre going to die someday.......its a fact. That day is coming and you may think man whatever its way off. Remember school? It was never going to end and eventually it did. Think of how fast the years fly by after school. The day is coming you are one day closer to death today than you were yesterday. When will your last day be? Dont take the chance repent today. And know you have eternal life with God in Heaven instead of being in torment where there is gnashing of teeth.

It is not this world we will be measured against. I know many Christian men who are any thing but wimps, they choose to follow what they believe in. A judgment that comes after shuffling off this mortal coil. Better to serve in Heaven than rule this degenerate world!

I have done alot of things that were not wimpy. There is one thing thing that stands out among the rest. When I was 50 years I went from Texas to St. Louis,Mo to work at the city jail. It is a big jail that holds up to 2000 prisoners. I did it to test my faith and proof I could do it. I worked as a corrections officer for 2 years . It was scarier than combat in Viet Nam but I did it.I am leaving alot of things out. If you think that was wimpy, go try it yourself. They always need officers.

I'll bet you wouldn't call Orlando Pace (from the NFL) a wimp and he's a devout Christian, along with many other professional athletes.

Real men love Jesus!

All but one of the Apostles died for their faith in Jesus Christ. Most were beaten many times for telling about Jesus.

Even today, many are being killed for telling about Jesus. There are more people dying for their faith in Jesus today then ever before. I also contend that the closer we get to being like Jesus the bolder we become.

I do however think that many are afraid to stand up to one of the greatest threats to our society today...radical feminism.

Yes it is a threat to our society and to Christianity. It is the reason the Violence Against Women Act was passed which is literally destroying more homes then any one thing

The churches are afraid to stand up to it and as a result fewer and fewer men attend church. Men are told to be the head of their homes but when they try to do so, they are often accused of being controlling and abusive...no matter how they do it. The same pastors that told them to be the head of their homes will then accept anything their wives say as gospel and blame the man for being an abuser.

I have seen this many times as the founder of Shattered Men. Men who have been black and blue from beatings from their wife have been told they were liars and that they were beating their wife. yea...men always assault their wives fist with their face!

These are just two examples:
