I imagine they would open their mouths and say so, but what did CNN say was different about the health care for each. That is something you didn't mention or did you not watch it.
As for news sources, who can or can't you beleive. CNN was the ONLY one transmitting during the first war in Iraq and that was a fluke.
You certainly can't believe Islamic TV, they are very biased. They make Fox look fair and impartial!
More importantly, and THIS should tell you something about Islamics and Muslims here at YA, you didn't make any comments or give any details. You simply asked a question about the report. I mean, what if Muslims AGREED with that report. But one Muslim here immediately said don't pay attention to CNN. So if CNN reported it correctly and was PRO, they'd probably change their mind about that report.
One thing I've learned about ALL muslims, they speak the party line and play mind games. They are NOT open minded and fair to issues. A lot of Americans are and those Americans will become very disillusioned one day when they find out ALL Muslims only speak propeganda.
As an example. Most Muslims do agree Aisha was 6 when she married Muhammad and 9 when their marriage was consumated and they indicate it's a Tribal Tradition not shared by all Islamics. A few, however, and trying to say she was 18 when it happened DISPITE the fact that in the Sura Aisha herself details the entire thing and SHE said she was 9 when they mated.
Why are they saying 18, becaus we find it more "acceptable" than 9. I'd rather they be "honest" and "open" then try and re-write history.
Anyone saying she was older is DISPUTING the Sura. Confront them and ASK THEM IF THEY ARE OPENLY DISPUTING the Sura.
While NOT a scared document, most will not openly admit to condeming the Sura, expecially since many of them quote other aspects of it.
Also, since Aisha praises Muhammad, try hitting them with, then "that must also be false and a lie" and you'll watch how quickly they say "that part is true."
Slip and slide segues.
Play word games with Islamics and you'll watch them step on their own toes, except for the more HONEST ones who cheerfully admit it's all true and defend it.
It's much easier dealing with an honest one than one trying to hide behind a tissue of lies.

I am surprised CNN would be reporting that... it is probably because of the sectarian issues there.
Anyway the differences are minor as they both believe in one God, the finality of prohethood on Muhammad, the angels, the resurrection and the day of judgement.
The differences are the following
1- They disagree on certain events of the remote past, mostly to do with the time immediately after the Prophet's death
2- Shias give importance to certain figures who are as important to Sunnis as any of the Prophet's companions but in Shiite Islam they are revered as special
3- They really mourn the loss of some soldiers of Islam in a war called the Qarbalah. Those lost were as revered to Sunnis as they are two Shias but Shias vocally practise mourning year after year. To Sunnis, any martyr who died alongside the Prophet in a war or after that while fighting in the way of God during those times is worth respect.
4- The payment of Zakat (poor-due) is managed by the state for Sunnis in part and partly they give it themselves (It is 2.5% of your assets like precious metals, surplus property and all such assets which you do not use actively). Shias have their own system of Zakat payment and they have divided it into two broader parts.
So the differences are related to events in history and attaching significance to certain historical figures but broadly they follow the same God, the same messengers from Adam to Abraham to Noah to Moahammad.
Apart from these doctine-related differences, there is no difference in their appearence, dressing etc
Hope that helps.
May God bless you and your family, always.

They are the Catholic Muslims and the Protestant Muslims. I can't remember which is which. I can't tell them apart. They are all nice people (except for a tiny minority of trouble makers). Certain names, like Ali are identified with one or the other. There are slight doctrinal differences. Them main difference is how they figure who was the successor to their Prophet.
For the most part, they can work together peaceably, and many have friends in the other group. Like every other group, they have a small number of people who are intolerant of anyone who is different than them.
The typical Shiite and Sunni Muslims are friendly toward Christians.

I don't think there is a way to tell without asking. As far as I know they don't wear any type of uniform so I don't really know. Maybe it is just the territory they are in. I heard the war over there was like the Union and the Confederates but in all honesty I don't have a clue but I do wish I had a better/unslanted understanding.

Sunni and Shia both believe in Quran. The main difference is political. Most Sunnis and Shias live together in society hence there is no way to indentify who is Sunni or Shia.

Both believe in the Quran.
Although just one line of Quran I happen to read says -THE MOUNTAINS ARE THERE TO PREVENT THE EARTH FROM SHAKING - and they claim it is truly great scientific discovery.
Can you elaborate on this great science of yours. Looks more like Satan who existed throughout history took bits and pieces of what he saw without the true knowledge of God the creator - coming out with miracle like statements to mislead you.

The only fundamental difference between them as far as I know is that they don't share exactly the same ideology... though they all share the same basic MENTAL DELUSION and that's called Islam.
