Anytime I see a post like this: "a question for Christians", it is usually based on gross misinterpreted and mangled scripture, by misinformed understandings of scripture or our beliefs, and by flawed concepts of "logic". People make statements about the Bible and God which are based only on ones own assumptions, and generally by people who have not even read one fourth of the Bible, let alone given it any consideration or made any attempt to understand it's applications. I can tell you, that I make many opinionated statements myself about atheism, but I at least have personally studied ALL sides of the creation v. B.B., and my opinions are based on actually knowing something about what it is I am debating. People, could it be that maybe you won't allow yourself to actually study and apply the Bible to your life, because you might start to feel it's divine nature and power and start to develop a sense of morality, or worse, become a follower of Christ, the God of Abraham in the flesh

This website has a lot of people that appear to be very hostile and defensive. Why is it a person that does not have the same views as as another, people instantly become very defensive and hostile? Can't people accept that others don't see things the way they do and let it go? Why the antagonistic attacks?

Christians, non-Christians, and everyone in between... why do you believe what you believe?
I am going through a time that I am finally turning back to God, but it has been a long journey. For those who say that God isn't real, let me tell you that I have proof otherwise. I have tried my best to run from God, but he hasn't given up on me, and I found myself literally propelled back into church Sunday when I didn't even want to. I am curious what turning points made others believe what they believe. My beliefs stem from the fact of the way I was raised combined with the fact that without God life has no meaning... and if you look in the book of Revelation, everything has come to pass... and the fact that someone has been looking out for me, even when I have been on the wrong path.

I ask this question because my wife's sister has joined "The order of the eastren star" (female arm of freemasonry) and her husband has joined the freemason's. I have seen the insignia for the order of the eastren star it is a pentagram with two point's up surrounded by two circles. The same pentagram is used by satanist's. I am well aware of the use of a pentagram to represent the five wound's of christ but that would in fact be one point up not two. Please, any advice on the issue would be greatly appreciated.

Christians, stop lying to yourselves. You're all religious. Us atheists know you more than you know yourselves

If humans celebrated humanity and believed in the human spirit, inteligence and in ourselves instead of religion, would the world be a better place? I believe so (I am an atheist although that has nothing to do with the question).

Aren't angels ethereal beings of their own rite, not to be confused with the human soul (for those who believe)? This is not to be mean, I ask because I know many, many people who do these things.

The Mayans of ancient mexico. My history may be off by a few years but they weren't introduced to christianity until around the 1500's by spain (who ended up murdering the mayans, spreading disease and stealing all their gold).

Now for hundreds of years and many generations, the mayans worshiped THEIR gods and followed their rituals. The idea of christianity was a crazy idea to them and human sacrafice was normal to them.

QUESTION:
Did god create 1,500 years worth of Myan men, women and children, just so that he could send them to hell for commiting human sacrafice?

They didn't have access to christianity for 1,500 YEARS!!! So were they judged by their works? Their "works" consisted of human sacrafice and blood rituals which were normal for their society.

Would god send millions of these people to an eternity in hell for practicing normal standards?

I have been searching but I am having a hard time finding a thank you poem about angels. Along the lines of thank you for being and angel... the catch is that most of them say thank you for being there everyday, but this is going into a thank you card for a gift I received from a stranger. Any nice ones?

I think most people believe because they have never done the research. Most Christians I know simply believe because they are told to from a young age. Most have leared everything they know from the Bible or Church. If they actually did the reaserch and looked into the science and the evidence that is all around they would see the Bible is false. Andromeda is a galaxy 2.5 million light years away. (That number is universally accepted and proven with an error rate of +or - 3%.) If the earth is only 6000 years old as the bible suggests we would only be able to see stars and other objects that were closer than 6000 light years from Earth. This alone proves the Bible wrong. I know people will try to dispute this fact with irasional statements with no merrit, but its proven. The earth is billions of years old.

I have been reading up on wicca for years now and I think the belief system is fascinating. We all have heard about the "born again Chrsitians" and how they feel enlighted. I was wondering why did you select wicca and how has it helped your life? Anyone hindered by it and left it? Thanks

So many fervent Christians are offended by questions that are so stupid they are funny. Billy Chrystal and Woody Allen tell Jewish jokes all the time and people laugh - not berate them. Jewish people know what a JOKE is.

The most stupid questons in this section are answered with serious answers.

Some of J****' teachings seem to Jews either contradictory or simply immoral. This does not negate the possibility that Jesus was a great moral teacher, but he was far from perfect in his moral outlook. The idea that eternal punishment would follow from rejecting J**** seems downright evil. That someone could live a noble life and not be saved, when another could live a depraved and cruel life and through a true conversion of his heart at the end of life still be saved, is hard to tote up on the moral balance sheet. I am aware that many Christian groups reject this doctrine today, but for centuries it was normative church doctrine.
