In the Darmic sense, how does one recognize, successfully, an enlightened person and their wisdom for what it is, if you are not enlightened?

I asked about ghost/angel stories earlier and I got an answer to "be careful" because I've heard there are tricky deamons that try to make you trust them and I'VE ALSO HEARD OF THAT. Does anyone have any information on this too? I'm hoping that isn't the case that I'm dealing with -- would like some feedback of persons with experience or real knowledge. No use answering if you just don't believe me -- just go to some other question -- don't waste your time :)...... THANKS A BUNCH

As I understand it, to be omnipotent Allah has to be omniscient.

However, during Ramadan, muslims fast during the day, but after sunset, believing that Allah can't see them in the dark they stuff themselves to the point of nearly vomiting. It's kind of like a cheat's way of fasting. Not like Jesus, who supposedly fasted for 40 days and 40 nights. I guess the Christian god must be able to see in the dark!

Now, surely to be properly omniscient, Allah would have to be able to see in the dark, and plainly this is not so. Therefore he is not omnipotent.

P.S. I am not a Christian.

Who is God here? Jesus or John? Who do you listen to and trust more?

If they are both speaking :"for God" than what is special about Jesus?
If Jesus is God, and John is not,
than wouldn't you trust what comes right from the horses mouth?

Here are a couple of prominent ones.

CHRISTIANS WORST: Burning witches; the Crusades; the Inquisition; collaboration with the Nazis; sexual & moral rigidity; oppression of ethnic and sexual minorities; promoting theocracy; believe they are going to heaven to the exclusion of everyone else
CHRISTIANS BEST: Founding hospitals, colleges, and orphanages; aiding the poor and homeless; patron of the arts (music, art, architecture); providing rituals to build community

MUSLIMS WORST: Oppression of women and homosexuals; attention on justice over compassion; sexual & moral rigidity; philosophy easily perverted to allow violence; too great an emphasis on community standards over individual liberty; promoting theocracy
MUSLIMS BEST: Patronage of arts, music and architecture; long history of advancing science; promoting charity; providing rituals to build community

How should we characterize these and other religions? Should we subdivide them? Are they responsible for fixing the problems?

Seriously! And I do not wish to offend anyone!

Reason! Over the last 2000 or so years there have been Kings, Queens, Pope's, Arch Bishops! Along with many others over the Centuries that have change religious values to meet certain the needs; of certain criteria, for certain generations! So much so that the Bible, it's meaning, and values, a virtually not recognisable!

For example!

Psalms included in the Bible written by various authors more akin to modern times, rather than 2000 years ago!

How in some parishes there are Homosexual Clergy (No Offence)
yet in the Bible it clearly states that this is a NO NO!

On the other hand reports today suggest Homo sexuals should not have access to certain religious establishments! Including Christian place! So hypocrisy is definately going on here! Either No No or Go Go! Which one!

Love Thy Nieghbour! Erm Should that not be bomb thy nieghbour! You know where I am going with this!

So much to go on guys n gals!

Peace!

and when they die there will be no God, now what did they lose

Some of the responses from non believers are pretty sarcastic, but some are quite funny, as long as its not blasphemy. Agreed?

Blame Adam and Eve, fine. But who created these life forms and micro-organisms? Did they create themselves out of materialized "evil"?

You try to blame everything on "the fall" and say the earth was left 'susceptable' to "bad" things???? But this is nothing but a copout since you are avoiding the ultimate question of who created these life forms,
since they are life forms, and God is the only one to be credited as 'creator'.

Or would this be a circumstance where you would have to concede it's more evolution which has to do with the mutation of viruses and bacteria rather than God or the devil?

So if it's just "nature", than why does God step in for a church revival but he can't seem to change 1 tiny particle of DNA code on a strain to make it non-lethal?

With that, it would seem it comes down to 'God's willful punishment' or "God has no control at all with the workings of nature".
---which is actually quite the obvious choice if you look around.

This is the unforgivable sin. What exactly does it mean? Maybe I've done it and don't remember and that is why I have so many doubts about my salvation.

I'm talking about the prayer life where you hear God speaking to you and you praying what He is telling you, now that's intercessory prayer. Who's ready for that mantle? You can tap the 3rd dimension of prayer.

Why do people believe that all these events happened. Even though there are many different stories of the same event but thigns are completely different. Is it so they have something to believe in? There is more evidence of "The Big Bang" and Evolution, so why do they insist the Bible is correct? Is it because it is old?

Please don't answer saying "You don't believe blah blah you will burn blah blah."

Collecting material things used to be very important to me . I'm beginning to believe that material things aren't the most important things in life . Now I'm beginning to realize the more we have of material things the more we want and the greedier we become . I don't want any part of that . I feel inspired to get rid of my belongings unless they REALLY serve a purpose ( kitchenware, clothes, etc . ) . How can I get over buying new belongings ? Do I make a rule that says "Don't buy any new material things ?" . Why do I want material things ? Am I lacking something spiritually within myself ? What am I lacking ? How can I find that something so I don't depend on material things for happiness ? What do I do with myself after I give up collecting material things ? How can I get ready to get rid of my belongings ?

Have school teachers teach about all the problems that the belief in God has caused in the past and the present

Make kids aware of over 1000 cases of modern day ministers and pastors committing felonies and doing horrible things to folks

Drill this into kids heads everyday and they will be terrified of God and the belief in him

Simply teaching the truth will destroy the belief in god

...such as their savior did?

When the merchants were selling in the temple, He said 'this is the house of my God" right? Who's God? The Jewish God, no?

So if Jesus said he did not come to change the Jewish law, but to 'confirm' it (paraphrasing),

Than why do you listen to John over Jesus?

Who is God here? Jesus or John? Who do you trust or listen to more?
