As I understand it, to be omnipotent Allah has to be omniscient.

However, during Ramadan, muslims fast during the day, but after sunset, believing that Allah can't see them in the dark they stuff themselves to the point of nearly vomiting. It's kind of like a cheat's way of fasting. Not like Jesus, who supposedly fasted for 40 days and 40 nights. I guess the Christian god must be able to see in the dark!

Now, surely to be properly omniscient, Allah would have to be able to see in the dark, and plainly this is not so. Therefore he is not omnipotent.

P.S. I am not a Christian.

"Allah" cannot be omnipotent because Islam denies that God can appear in human flesh.

God has declared that He has, 1 John 5/10.

Only God is omnipotent.

P S. God can see in the dark. Yea the darkness hideth not from thee, but the night shineth as the day, the darkness and the light are both alike to thee, Psalm 139/12.

Who told you that Muslims eat after sunset because Allah cant see them? (the stupidest reason i heard!)

The reason that Muslims eat after sunset is cause if they fast the whole time, they will be dead!

The purpose of Ramadhan is like getting work experience. People fast to have a feeling of how the poor and the needy feel. The poor and the needy dont know when their next meal is gonna come from or even if it is gonna come at all. Those of us that are better off, we know that we can have food whenver we want and therefore dont really think of the needy.

Allah is neither omniscient or omnipotent! He is rather a late-comer in the God stakes, preceded by thousands of gods and goddesse's. Some have stayed the course, but most have receded into obscurity, where eventually ALL gods will end up. Gods have served man well since the first spark of humanity lit up in a primitive brain some millions of years ago. They provided answers. But they have served their purpose, and mankind is now answering his own questions now.

No more than any other God's. But if it works for them then let them be. Christian, Muslim, Jewish, Hindu, Buddhist whatever. If it works for them then I'm happy for them. I just wish that they would all stop fighting and warring with each other because of old vendettas or grudges.

That is not a real doctrine of Islam. It is a charming anthropomorphism by ordinary people, similar to the idea some people have that you should not be uncovered even in private, because "God can still see." Cute but not important.

As no-one was around when these traditions were invented, it's impossible to say.

It's my view that these things tend to evolve over the generations. Just look at christmas. it has changed from a pagan festival to a reliious festival, to a commercial feeding franzy.
