It all depends on how much work you put into it, just like any other business. I've seen many new churches start off with a bang and end up with no members and no money within two years.
Many pastors and their wives have to maintain outside jobs to feed their families and pay their bills.
It also depends whether they are in the ministry to serve God or to just to receive the benefits of a non prophet organization.
I believe God blesses those who seek His will and to those that don't He lets them do it but He doesn't give them the benefits and the blessings that come with obedience. That is why so many fall by the wayside or end up in scandals.

Not really. Most churches operate on the tithes of their members. The latest research indicates that only about 10% of people actually tithe to their church. Also, most of the work at churches is done by about 5% of the people. The statistics say that 5% of the people do 95% of the work and 95% of the people do 5% of the work. The same goes for tithes and offerings. 10% of the people give 90% of the money and 90% of the people give 10% of the money. Most businesses would crumble with this type of support system. Thanks be to God that He can take all of the offerings and make it work. No, churches are not a good business, but they do have a great CEO.

If you run it well, you can get very, very rich. If you have any doubts, just take a holiday in Rome and tour the Vatican. Bill Gates house has nothing on the Pope's palace.

And it's not just the Romans. Watch the upcoming fight for control of the Billy Graham business if you want to understand what's at stake.

The priest at my old church (catlicks) sits his @ss on a $3,000.00 sofa imported from Italy, drives a brand new van (for the sick, ya right) and travels to wherever he wants for vacation every year. AND he's a cocky fu*cker on top of it! Yeah, religion, way to go.......
