pray about it. Read Pslams and proverbs. There are spiritual benefits to humbling yourself. It's almost like an emotional intelligence when you look at somebody else's needs faster and sooner than your own. Try reading the Penguin's Classic's "The Imititation of Christ" - by Thomas A. Kempis. This booked helped me!! It says that humility is the highest wisdom. To take no account of yourself and to think of others higher than you is the best wisdom. Good book too. Might change your life like it did mine.

Look at the stars and the moon, imagine how big the universe truly is, and know that you are just a infinitesimal speck for your part in it all. Start to focus on God, who created it all. What were you created for, what is your part in the grand scheme of things?

Pride comes from focusing on our self. Humble comes from focusing on serving God and other people. Let love be the motivating factor in all that you think, say, and do.

When you come to the part that you realize that you can't do it all yourself, seek Gods help through Jesus Christ. He is the way, truth and life.

Being humble is showing humility and unselfish concern for the needs of others. The first commandment was to love God with your whole heart, soul, and mind. The second is to love your neighbor as yourself. It also shows submission to God's way of dealing with mankind. Dealing with others in a loving manner is always the best way to do things and you can never go wrong in doing so. Being obedient is also a way to be humble; Jesus was obedient to death. Following Christs example by humbling ourself and being obedient are ways we can be humble and there are many blessings that go along with it now, and in the future. We can have God's blessing through the gift of his holy spirit and our privilege of prayer. Following Jesus command to go and make disciples, to be fishers of men preaching the good news of the kingdom to others brings great joy. Yes, being humble brings great benefits to all those who endeavor to follow closely the laws provided to us through the bible, Gods word. He never gives us anything that is not for our benefit. Can you remember when you didnt know the meaning of pride? It was probably when you were very young. Ask God to humble yourself like a child. Thats what I will be asking for in my prayer.

As long as you have a sense of self, you can never be truly humble. A self can be better or worse than another person. True humility means you see no one better or worse.

A humble person does not realize they are humble.

First, realize that you are proud. Then ask God daily to humble you. Pride is like facial hair, you have to shave it off every day.

Also I would suggest this. Think of what you are proud of. Then think of Jesus being beaten and tormented because you are proud of that thing.

Wow this is a tough one that I struggle with. I really try to go out of my way for people, mostly strangers. Open the door, allow others to cut in line, let the jerk on the road cut me off. I guess I am saying I search out opportunities to serve. When you serve people you are putting their needs above your own. Also, when you become proud of an achievement, work, life whatever, remind yourself that everything is cyclical and think about all the factors outside of your own that helped you achieve it.

pray about it...ask God to reveal the areas where you are proud...ask Him for Grace to be humble...acknowledge Him in every area...the word says in John 15:5 "I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing." humbling yourself is to say that FROM YOUR HEART that apart from Him you can do nothing
