I have always understood that the drinking of alcohol is prohibited by islam, but recently 2 muslim clerics from my area were seen drinking spirits. Is there an exception to this rule depending on one's position within the faith, or does it differ from country to country?

Personally, I think "no". My BF is an atheist and I'm a Wiccan. We plan on answering any questions the children bring us from our own points of view, but we intend to explain that other people believe differently and that they are free and welcome to do so, too.

What do YOU believe, and please note your religion (or lack thereof) of choice. :)

Isaiah predicted the Messiah Jesus 700bce perfectly-"Unto us a child will be born, a SON given, and he will be almighty God, and the prince of peace."

I as a Jew saw this and it made me think-where is our Messiah to be the Son given and almighty God and our prince of peace?

as I read on I learned

Isaiah 52:13-53:12 HE WILL BE EXALTED. HE WILL FIRST BE MARRED MORE THAN ANY MAN. HE WILL LAY DOWN HIS LIFE TO MAKE ATONEMENT/FORGIVENESS FOR OUR SINS. HE WILL DIE WITH THE WICKED AND BE BURRIED WITH THE RICH."

only Jesus came and fulfilled these words-which most of my Jewish people as it also promsed would "He will be despised and rejected of his own people."

Jesus taught about Hell-he said it is gnashing teeth, weeping and cursing forever in never ending torment=Revelation 19-22nd chapter. He also spoke of the joy of heaven for all that recieve him and his word. John 12:48 "Reject my words and the same will judge you in the last day." Jesus

how can you reject simpleTruth

I heard from yahoo! answers that using ESP(extrasensory perception), or any form of psychic power, is a sin. So is intuition a sin also? Even if it happens involuntarily?

"Utah residents currently use more antidepressant drugs, notably Prozac® (fluoxetine hydrochloride, introduced in 1987), than the residents of any other US state. This problem is clearly, closely and definitely linked to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Approximately 70% of Utahns are Mormons. Jim Jorgenson, director of pharmacy services for the University of Utah, confirmed that Utah has the highest percentage of anti-depressant use, hypothesizing that large families, larger in Utah than in other states, produce greater stress. (Large Utah families are primarily Mormon families)."
From http://home.teleport.com/~packham/prozac.htm

Why do you think that Mormons take more antidepressant medications than anyone else in the US?

When it is a work of such fanatic anti-semitic hatred ?

I agree with Shmuel Golding,"Any Jew who can pay homage to the New Testament or allow himself to believe in it, is, in my opinion in the same category as a Jew who tries to justify Hitler's Mein Kampf or, as one who covers up for the deeds of the Nazis."

example
John 8:44,47(KJV) – (44) Ye [Jews] are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye [Jews] will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.(47) He that is of God heareth God's words: ye [Jews] therefore hear them not, because ye [Jews] are not of God

1 Thessalonians 2:13-16(KJV) (15) they please not God, and are contrary to all men: (16) for the wrath is come upon them to the uttermost.

I am not trying to start a debate here, but I saw this same question posted the other night, and many atheists replied that it meant "lack of religion or belief in God" or "outright denying God's existance". I am just curious to know, then, why so many atheists spend so much time in the religious section of Y/A, and many (not all) of them are constantly mocking believers (of any faith, but generally Christian) and, essentially, trying to convert others to atheism, (by trying to make others believe they are right). This makes me think; maybe an atheist wants to believe, or maybe they want reason to believe that God does care for them, or maybe they don't have the Joy of knowing any god, therefore they want to bring down those who do, etc... something similar. I have always believed that, deep down, everyone feels both the existance of God and his presence (or lack thereof). Tell me what y'all think, and please keep it civil.
