Who controls how viruses and bacteria mutate?
God, the devil, or nature/natural evolution?

And if God micromanages his life creation (including assumingly viruses and other micro-organisms,
what was the reasoning behind it besides to seek and destroy (which is what the life job of a virus is ie. AIDS)?????????

Why do people consider Scientology, Jehovas Witnesses, Latter Day Saints, and many others cults as opposed to the big 'organized' religions. All of them are essentially founded on a faith and belief in a higher power or inanimate object or thought, so why poke fun at people for having other beliefs. I am an athiest so it would be nice to have a good solid answer, not one based upon some unprovable concept.Thanks

I have been going through a spiritual "awakening" and am a former Baptist Christian. I am just wondering if there are "Christians" out there who believe in Jesus' teachings but also have an understanding that the Bible is not error-proof. I am also wondering if there are any churches or organizations out there who support this view. I went to a Unitarian church last Sunday but it was the exact ceremony of a Baptist church except they took out "God" and "Jesus" from everythign and didn't open a Bible. They even had hymnals! It was not what I was looking for, it was exactly what I'm trying to FREE myself from so I would just love to know of people who maybe used to be Christians or even are people who believe that Jesus was who he said he was but perhaps know the religion of Christianity has overshadowed the truth of his teachings. I would love to know if there are other churches or denominations out there like this (and aren't jaded and bitter Christian haters). Thanks!

Christians believe in Jesus just for eternel life which means they are afraid of death. I am an atheist and know there is nothing such as eternel life but I am not afraid of death. Life will be boring however good it is if it goes for a long time. So will be the life in your made up heaven.
So join the atheists. Here gates of hell are opened wide and those of heaven are disclosed.

I'm beginning to believe that material things aren't the most important things in life, and I feel inspired to get rid of my belongings unless they REALLY serve a purpose ( kitchenware, clothes, etc . ) . How can I get ready to get rid of my belongings ? How do I know I won't miss my belongings after they're gone ? How can I get over buying new belongings ? Do I make a rule that says "Don't buy any new material things ?" What do I do with my time after I don't collect new belongings ? How can I lose interest in material things ?

I couldn't believe my eyes when I read the following statistic,written in a pamphlet issued by the Dean of Women's Office at Queen University:

1.In Canada,a woman is sexually assaulted every 6 minutes.

2.1 in 3 woman in Canada will be sexually assaulted at some time in their lives.

3.A study found that 60% of Canadian university-aged male said that they would commit sexual assault if they were certain that they will not get caught.

I saw a puppy on the side of the road today and thought long and hard about picking him up because he was abandoned for sure given the remote area. I did not pick him up but he has been on my mind all morning. It is really cold out and will be snowing soon. Could you pray for the puppy? I leave work at 1145 today and if I see him I am going to pick him up and give him a good home.

I know this is beyond silly - - but I just can't get the little fella out of my mind, he looked so lost!

Besides doesn't God say help all cretes great and small?

Say, you do something bad like Lie, or something of that nature, and you ask God for forgiveness right? And when God forgives that means that he doesn't remember it and it's gone for forever. Well, what if you dad tells you something like you'll have to face what you did on Judgement day. Would you get judged of that even though its been forgiven and forgotten?
