Say, you do something bad like Lie, or something of that nature, and you ask God for forgiveness right? And when God forgives that means that he doesn't remember it and it's gone for forever. Well, what if you dad tells you something like you'll have to face what you did on Judgement day. Would you get judged of that even though its been forgiven and forgotten?

You won't have to face that. WHat God wants to judge is your life here on Earth. Did you do what was required of you as a servant to the Lord. Like when He pricked your heart to stop and give somebody who were walking a ride and you didn't do it. Or you hearing a person needing something and you knew you had it and He pricked your spirit to do it and you didn't. That's what you're going to be judged on. Your works here on Earth. He can careless about a lie that you've repented of. That's in the sea of forgetfulness, never to be remembered agaisnt you again.

If your Dad is like me, he is not perfect, only our Lord and Savior is and was perfect of all people to live on Earth. So even though he has a great love for you, he is not your judge and doesn't know your hart.
In my understanding receiving forgiveness involves about 5 steps.
1. To recognize the sin.
2. Have godly sorrow for the sin (truly be sorry for it, not just sorry for getting caught).
3. Confessing the sin, both to God and to others it may involve. Possibly your Pastor Priest or Bishop as well, if it is serious enough to possibly affect your standing in the church.
4. Trying to make recompense for your actions, if it's possible. (Example replacing what was stolen, or apologizing to who you hurt etc.) This sometimes can not be done, only do what is possible.
5. Forsaking the sin. Or giving up the desire to repeat the same sin. (often the hardest part for me).

If you have done this or similar to this, Our Savior promises even though your sins be as scarlet they will be made as white as snow. He is your judge, not any person here on Earth now.

Thanks for sharing, this question gives many of us time to reflect on what we have done as well.

the version is in degree. God has given us the means to forgive simply by fact we are created in His image. whether, on each occasion a human clearly asks God for forgiveness, He forgives completely and completely. The Bible says that He drops our sins "interior the sea of forgetfulness and recollects them not extra" and that our sin is removed from us "as a approaches simply by fact the east is from the west." that isn't in a circle like the globe, that's in a limiteless line!! human beings attempt to forgive that way, yet many times we can not forget approximately, and the wear and tear that guy or woman has performed continues to be with us so we now not have confidence them. each so often this is efficient yet God constantly forgives and forgets.

If it's been forgiven of God you have nothing to worry about.Jesus terms for forgiveness are not like man's terms. We are offended , but He is never offended,He wants more than anything to forgive you.He leaves's the 99 to go and forgive the one who is lost.

Catholics believe that once God forgives, it's forgiven. You do not have to account for it when you die, because you took care of it beforehand. This is God's great love and mercy at work.

God says to ask for forgiveness and you will recieve it. Tell your dad to chill out on the fire and brimstone speeches! Live your life and be a good person. That's the best you can do.

Forgiveness is something you have to believe. I would say that your belief must be stronger than what any person says. Even your dad.
Respect him, but work out your own Salvation with fear and trembling.
Asking for true forgiveness means repentance and / or making amends for your "something." Your words must mean more than lip service.
Blessings

If you truly repented of the sin [turned away], it is forgiven. The consequences may have to be lived with, but that can be in joy, because you know you are forgiven.

Yes you can be forgiven here and now, but the bible says we will give an account for every word that comes out of our mouth.
