Muslim women are treated bad?How about yours?

I couldn't believe my eyes when I read the following statistic,written in a pamphlet issued by the Dean of Women's Office at Queen University:

1.In Canada,a woman is sexually assaulted every 6 minutes.

2.1 in 3 woman in Canada will be sexually assaulted at some time in their lives.

3.A study found that 60% of Canadian university-aged male said that they would commit sexual assault if they were certain that they will not get caught.

Is this how they teach you,the girl has to live forever with the man who has violated her,?And the girl virginity worth only fifty shekel's of silver?
Truly this is absurd,.

Rape is a "control" crime committed by insecure men. In my opinion the crime doesn't come close to the punishment in ANY country. The bible it seems is perhaps a little outdated. Ya think? I love Canada but even in our country woman's rights still have a long way to go. Religion is largely to blame for our silence and tolerance of oppression. We out number men 6-1 but they have the majority in government and as a result make our laws. Gotta start there.

Canada isn't the only place women are treated poorly. IN the US....

There are crimes against women in all areas of the world. Unfortunately the media likes to focus on a few radical Muslims and lead the public to believe that all Muslims act this way. In reality, crime in Muslim countries is not worse than other nations, and true Muslim men cherish their women.

Thank you for citing other examples. Maybe it will inspire others to look into their own culture and see they are not perfect either.

Would the Christian men Reading this prefer the

the fifty shekels is not for losing her virginity,
before they used to pay money or gold to her parents before the marriage this is what Arab do till these days.
2nd what if the girl refused to marry this guy because she was in love with another man?and the girl wants her rights, and she doesn't want the money .What punishment must be applied in this case.
And if the survey is correct then the problem not in the people or their religions the problem in applied low,the police doesn't make their job properly

In fact 4 muslim countries have had women leaders - Pakistan (Benazir Bhutto) Indonesia (Megawata Sukanaputri) Bangladesh (Khaleda Zia, Sheikh Hasina) and Turkey (Tansu Ciller) - these are no minor countries between them they represent more than 50% of the worlds Muslim population -

the only country in the world where the leader and the main head of opposition are women is Muslim Bangladesh

and some countries havent even had a female vice -president !!

As for the statistics, I would like to know more about the study. I find it hard to believe that 60% of Canadian males would say that. Cite your source more thoroughly and we'll talk.

However, even if all that is true, it just proves that both Muslim countries AND Canada treats their women poorly. It doesn't exonerate the Muslim nations from responsibility.

No, thats not how it is at all. if he rapes a girl or woman he goes to prison if he gets cought.and not all men are like that. so, not all woman are treated badly. but it only takes one man to rape several women and girls. so, more gets hurt. I am a victim and most of them were from mexico!!!!

I have never read this verse in the bible. American women get abused and killed by their husbands, too. A man who kills his wife, who he abuses, gets less time in prison than a woman who kills her husband who abused her and tried to kill her. I learned that in a womens study course in college.

Our country is not done fighting for equal rights for women and minorities.
