In the book of Acts on the day of Pentecost int he upper room God poured out his spirit upon all that were in the upper room.
Acts.2
[1] And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
[2] And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
[3] And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
[4] And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
AND ALSO Acts 2:37-39
[37] Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?
[38] Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
[39] For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

The Holy Ghost is real even today and God honors his word if you Repent (truly repent which is turning away from your sin and going the exact other direction) and be baptized in the name of Jesus you will receive the Holy Ghost with evidence of speaking in other tounges as he give you the utterance. Tounges can not be taught this is something given directly by God himself.

The Holy Ghost or Holy Spirit is the third Person of the Holy Trinity: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
There is only one God, but he acts in 3 different manifestations which are called Persons.
Before he ascended to Heaven after the resurrection, Jesus (God the Son) promised that the Holy Spirit would come to his disciples; he had to leave them in order for them to receive the Holy Spirit.
They were still scared of the authorities so they were hiding in a house, when the Holy Spirit came to them, in the form of flames that hovered over each person's head. After this, the disciples (male and female both) lost their fear, went forth to preach the message of Jesus, and performed miracles.
We do not have Jesus physically now, so we depend on the Holy Spirit to sustain us. Of course this doesn't mean Jesus is absent; there is only one God, after all.

According to the Islamic point of view, the "holy spirit" is the arch-angel Gabrial. He is God's special envoy to his prophets. He brings down God's revelations and carries out other commandments of God. He is also the one told the virgin Mary that she will concieve Jesus by God's command. So, in short, the holy spirit (or holy ghost as some Christians call him) is an angel, not a part of the trinity.

I know that it's part of "The Trinity" The Father, The Son, and the Holy Spirit. But it makes no sense to me.

Before Jesus' ascencion, the Holy Spirit would come on people to empower them. For example,Gideon,Samson, etc.,but He would not stay. After His ascension,The Holy Spirit is now able to in-dwell believers and help lead them into all truth. He also seals us for the day of redemption.

I will do this just for you :)

Matthew 12:30
"...but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. and whosoever speaketh a word against the son of man shall be forgiven him: but who soever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall never be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come."

The holy ghost is a retard. His mama is a whore. He can **** me *** and like it.
