Hmm...despite the questionable composition of your question, you do raise a valid point.
But you also answer your own question...
It's not so much that christians are afraid of death, it's that people that are afraid of death are christians! This fear of death is one big motivating factor that prods people to believe in superstitious fairy-tales of a paradise in the sky after you die. It gives them comfort, and calms their fears. Doesn't matter that it's not real, if you want to believe something badly enough, it has a "placebo" effect and can still calm your fears. It's somewhat sad that in order to not be fearful they have to live in a delusional state, believing in wild fantasies for which there is no evidence of any kind...but as long as they don't try to teach their fantasies as science, they can believe whatever they want to.
What's ironic to me is that I often find that christians are the ones that fight hardest to hold on to life any way they can -- with the belief that they're going to a wonderful heaven afterwards, you'd think they'd welcome death when it comes, but they don't. Perhaps they're not only fearful of death, but also fearful that their fantasy heaven may not really be there after all? Hmm? :)

So an eternity of perfect joy, peace, and exhalted love beyond imagination is boring?
Without God, there is no hope. We all assume we will live long, prosperous lives, but what if tonight you die in a car accident? It's over. You go back to nothingness. Have you done everything you wanted to do in this life yet? If not, you better get started, because tonight might be your last.

While you live you enjoy your being.. Christians are alive never to die as promised by our Lord Jesus. There is no fear because there is no death.. I am not asking you to believe that it's from the words of Jesus recorded in the Gospel of John in the 5th chapter. My duty is to tell you about it. If you were to believe that would be by the power of the Holy Spirit.. That's His job.. I'm good but I'm not that GOOD.. Jim

Your argument doesn't stand up. You presume Christians are afraid to die so they invented Jesus Christ's teachings to convince themselves of eternal life.
If someone were to knock on your door and tell you they were selling magazine subscriptions, did they come to your door because you willed them with your overwhelming desire to read "Newsweek?"
No.
If I were to read your question another way, it seems as though Christians are opportunists who only believe in Jesus so they can live forever.
Also untrue. If you had the chance to sit at the feet of the greatest teacher of all time (whomever you think that is), would you take it?
Christians seek to be closer to God because they love God. And God so loved his children that he sent his only son, created before all worlds, light of light, true God of true God, begotten and not made, of one essence with the Creator.
Throughout life we strive to become more like our Creator.

I am not afraid of death, I wish for it, but my time is not ready, for we all are supposed to live a long life. And then when Im ready, ill be on my way to heaven, the most wonderful place.

I would bet you are a youngster. I've been besides many death beds and tell you, there is nothing sweeter, more glorious than a Christian who is about to die, it is peaceful, joyous and encouraging.
I have also seen the death of the wicked. Absolute despair, crying, utter fear, anger, hatred and regret plague this ending.
It's easy to philosophize, but when death becomes a reality, truth prevails.
For me to live is Christ and to die is GAIN.

Hi The atheist revolutionary. When you look up the definition of the word "fear". It is described as: A painful feeling of impending danger. But, those who are truly born again in Christ have no reason to fear death, only the unsaved have a reason to fear judgment. God tells us we will all stand for judgment in 2 Corinthians 5:10:
"For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad."
Without Salvation, a person who dies will go to a place of silence and on the Judgment Day will stand for trial. This is the real fear. The fear of God. God tells us it is Him who we should fear in Deuteronomy 6:13:
"Thou shalt fear the Lord thy God, and serve Him, and shalt swear by His name."
When we become a Christian (True Believer), we view fear and death differently. In 2 Corinthians 5:8 God assures us:
"We are confident and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord."
God tells us again that we are not to fear death in Matthew 10:28:
"And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell."

We accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior because of the love He gives us, and not fear. We don't fear death, for it means we will be with God and Jesus in Heaven.
Heaven and Hell are real, your denying their existence doesn't make them anything less.

Maybe the Christians are thinking about their past. If you want to go to hell, that is your decision. What a shame. Afraid of dying? No, maybe they are just thinking of what will become of their family. Maybe it's the pain they are wondering about.
