Have school teachers teach about all the problems that the belief in God has caused in the past and the present

Make kids aware of over 1000 cases of modern day ministers and pastors committing felonies and doing horrible things to folks

Drill this into kids heads everyday and they will be terrified of God and the belief in him

Simply teaching the truth will destroy the belief in god

All of this combined wouldn't destroy God. God is an idea. The only way to destroy an idea is to kill everyone who thinks it, and that would be impossible. AND if you did then you would be creating problems because of your disbelief in God.

There are people who still believe in witch's and warlock's. Dragon's and Unicorns. You can't kill a thought., only try to reason with it.

The problem from this comes because some of the believers are so fanatical that they would kill you or try to destroy you for trying to get them to see a different perspective.

I often find an ironic humor in the fact that religious believers always point to the fact that "THEY" were persecuted and slain ie: Thrown into the lions dens, killed by infidels etc...etc. But they never point to what they did when their beliefs became a power. The inquisitions, the Moors, the Ottomans. They can always find justification based on something found written in some "Holy" book. But don't kill them.....because that would be MURDER. They're all a bunch of evil morons who look at themselves as righteous and "good" people.

You use pastors and ministers committing felonies as objects of scorn (and rightly so), and then forget that the current trend is many more teachers who are doing this. Who would you have teach the kids?

Besides, you forget - the Soviet Union did this. They were officially atheistic. They held mandatory atheism classes for all school children. For 70 years, the Soviet Union did this. And then the walls came tumbling down.

Do you know the first thing their schools asked of the West? How can we teach about God? And even today, the Russian schools now incorporate God into their curriculum. Fascinating turn of events, huh?

Just so you know, for the past 40 years, the school system in the US has been working toward the very thing you're asking for. The current debate about Intelligent Design versus Evolution is but one manifestation. Just as the Scopes trial was used to get Evolution mandated into curricula, advocates of ID have learned the lessons well. You want something bad enough, go to court and force it on people.

There is something you need to know, however. God will always maintain a remnant. He even creates believers in an atheist state.

One example from the old Soviet Union is Irina Ratushinskaya, who was a precocious 10 year old girl. She lived in Odessa. She was having to listen to her teacher go through a mandatory atheism class. She thought to herself, "My parents told me once or twice that there was no such things as ghosts or monsters. That was it. But the State tells me every week that there is no God. He must be very powerful if they are so afraid of Him."

As Irina grew up, she was given more truth, until one day she was actually able to get her hands on a Bible, written in an ancient Slavic script. She learned that language so that she could read it. She discovered that she believed the truth, and was a Christian, by God's incomparable grace, in the middle of the officially atheistic Soviet Union.

God has not caused problems in the past nor in the present.
Men have caused the problems. God taught principles. Man is imperfect.

God did not cause felonies with kids, you said it, imperfect Ministers and Pastors did.

God protected children.
I quote : "he who makes a child sin, it would be better for him to tie a rock around his neck and be thrown into the sea" Christ.

If you want to drill this into kids heads, you are basing your arguments on false premises and manipulated arguments.

So Teaching the truth? what truth ......yours??

Among others in history, communism for 76 years tried to eliminate religion by ways more sophisticated than yours, with additional terrifying methods of torture and execution to discourage all believers.

Nevertheless the minute communism disappeared, religion appeared stronger than before.
History has taught that religious people have the strongest will and character due to their deep convictions.

In the world over, you belong to a espiritually poor, small unfaithful minority.

Its always the bad that gets more press than the good. Get rid of all of the believers in God, and organized religion, then there will just be no news of child molesters because there wont be priest to get headlines with. There will be more poverty and ailments in third world countries, because there will be no missionaries.
Blaming religion for murders, pedophilia and the like is the problem. Each person is responsible for their own actions. God taught justice, love, and obedience.
Ever notice that children have a pure love an innocence. This is what god intends for us. I think we should learn from children, and remember what its like to be naive to an extent.

Yea, right... Look how well it worked in the USSR. Over seventy years of indoctrination against God. No Bibles, no churches, no speaking of God. Constent pressure not to believe in Him. Two whole generations raised in atheistm from the school and the state.

Yet within 2 years of the fall of the USSR, the percentage if people who said they believed in God was equal to the number in the USA (around 70%).

There is a desire built into humans, but God, that makes them search for a desrie him. Blaise Pascal described it by saying that "in every man there is a god shaped vacuum, and our hearts are restless until they find their rest in it."

As there is a God, no amount of teaching will ever be able to drive that truth and that desire out of the hearts of men.

When you say "truth", you're implying that the truth everyone must eventually realize is God does not exist, based on the sins of people who believe in God.

1) You cannot state that the "truth" is God does not exist because you cannot undisputedly prove there is no God. There is not one lick of evidence for this.

2) You cannot base this "truth" on the sins of believers as pointers to the "truth" because how do you account for the other believers who do not commit crimes and do their best to help others and be a beneft to mankind?

God never taught us to do bad things; we do those of our own choosing. If we obeyed and followed God like we should, this life would be completely different. It would be filled with His love, and His peace.

God bless.

Has anyone else noticed how spineless religious people all seem? "ask and ye shalt receive" What crap! I have a friend who is sooo into religion and church....well her parents have died, she cant hold a job, lost her house, cant keep a car running. where is her god! Then on the flip side, I don't believe in god, or go to church, my parents, grandparents, even my great grand parents are all still alive. I am in perfect health, have an awesome job beautiful home........ All this sitting around and waiting for some higher being to grant you all these things while the world passes you by is a crutch! Get off your ***, get a job,pay your own frickin bills. The only way to make it in life is to do it your self, some made up storybook character is not going to swoop in and save you!!

I wasn't going to answer this question because the concept is pretty absurd. However, I had to respond to a comment by Conscious. "Execute all those outwardly expressing a belief in God" huh? What if a country that claims to be Christian were to choose to execute those who disavow God... deny his existence. Last time I checked there was freedom of speech and religion in this country.
If you want to live in a society that officially disavows the existence of God move to China. Sheeeeeeeesh.

Actually make that Sweden. They seem to have the highest percentage of non-believers on the planet.

Actually, distraction has a better record of diverting people from God. Keep them too busy with bread and circuses. Entertainment is the best way to kill off most gods. Who has time for them, when you can be having fun watching shows and listening to secluar music?

Kill a god WITH a god. Make everyone their OWN god. That is Satan's personal recipe.

Actaully I believe that no religious teachings belong in public schools. And that also includes the teachings that religion is false. That is the job of the parents.
