I ask this question because my wife's sister has joined "The order of the eastren star" (female arm of freemasonry) and her husband has joined the freemason's. I have seen the insignia for the order of the eastren star it is a pentagram with two point's up surrounded by two circles. The same pentagram is used by satanist's. I am well aware of the use of a pentagram to represent the five wound's of christ but that would in fact be one point up not two. Please, any advice on the issue would be greatly appreciated.

There is nothing wrong with the use of the pentagram in the OES (Order of the Eastern Star) symbolism. Don't read to much into it, and don't listen to everything the conspiracy nuts tell you. The various Masonic groups are simply charitable fraternal organizations.

Basically, Freemason's make try to make men better in their social, personal lives. There is nothing secret or satanic about them. They founded and support Shriner's Hospitals for children, where there is no charge for services. The Mason have been a wonderful service organization to every community where there is a lodge. They have given millions in scholarships and have always been willing to help people in need.
