The people who developed that quiz had some knowledge of Scriptural WORDS but not of teaching; they took quite a bit out of the intended context, and failed to use logic and reasoning.

I could list several examples, but one will suffice: Matthew 10:34 says:
"Do not think I came to put peace upon the earth; I came to put, not peace, but a sword." They used that to try to say Jesus was not peaceful, etc. In reality we find the statement is true because quite often when one persues the course of true Christianity, his friends and family, even his close family, will turn against him.

Notice the context in verses 32-39:
"Everyone, then, that confesses union with me before men, I will also confess union with him before my Father who is in the heavens; but whoever disowns me before men, I will also disown him before my Father who is in the heavens. Do not think I came to put peace upon the earth; I came to put, not peace, but a sword. For I came to cause division, with a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a young wife against her mother-in-law. Indeed, a man’s enemies will be persons of his own household. He that has greater affection for father or mother than for me is not worthy of me; and he that has greater affection for son or daughter than for me is not worthy of me. And whoever does not accept his torture stake and follow after me is not worthy of me. He that finds his soul will lose it, and he that loses his soul for my sake will find it."

This becomes even more clear when the entire context of Scripture is considered.

As I stated, that is just one example.

Funny thing about the bat - bird question: The Bible writers are not required to follow modern nomenclature for various creatures. They probably had different criteria than do we; undoubtably they said : "If it flies, we will call it a bird." That seems to me to be quite logical.

I beat your score using a very simple method. On those few questions I didn't immediately know, I just considered the source and selected the answer that ffrf.org would find most satisfying. If your 'reason' were really any good, the foolishness of faith would long ago have crumbled away 'till religion today would be taken no more seriously than fairies and astrology, but the power of your reason(as revealed in that sophomoric quiz) shows no real grasp of the intent or wisdom of the bible. For that reason I suspect that the Bible will still be revered long after your doctrine resides alongside the cosmic ether and alchemy, on the trash heap of human thought.

Interesting quiz. It was written by an individual or organization that didn't have a clue about the bible, so, it is a worthless endeavor.

It would be a lot better to read it instead.

Awesome link, everyone. Trust me, this is NOT spam, and I encourage all, believers and nonbelievers alike, to check out this site. The FFRF was founded by a very smart man, Dan Barker, who used to be an evangelical minister.

It's a great resource.

I got 42 right...

The sad part is, I guessed at much of them - by simply picking the least favorable, nastiest, hatefilled choice - and I was right 9 out of ten times. Thats SAD.

Tis even sadder that Christians refuse to take the test - they might be shocked at how litttle they do know about their own Bible. But, maybe thats why they avoid it. Nothing like lying to yourself to convince you of something....

I don't open web sites posted here. TOO many viruses. However, I read five chapters of the Bible a day. This takes me from cover to cover every year. Not just reading, but seeking the meaning of God's plan for me. My faith is not a quiz show. YBIC

I don't need to prove that I know the Bible. I admit, I don't completely understand it, as no one completely understand the entire Bible, but I do know enough that if someone would ask me a question, I would maybe be able to answer it. Thus, I'm not taking the quiz.

God Bless!
